Looking at my work from this year's units. Wednesday, 6 April 2011. Why I have selected work for my portfolio? The range of work includes experiments with pencil, charcoal, acrylic, watercolour, collage, print making, sculpture and digital manipulation. I have chosen pieces which show that I have taken a theme and approached it in different ways and influences, and not simply copied or replicated other artists work. Personal feelings and emotion. Gill's art portfolio: Developing the theme of four seasons

http://gillsartportfolio.blogspot.com/2011/04/developing-theme-of-four-seasons.html

Looking at my work from this year's units. Wednesday, 6 April 2011. Developing the theme of four seasons. I feel my work has developed and I am pleased with the results. I have never looked for abstraction in my work before this course or even thought about it! I would like to improve on my tonal qualities and achieving different effects within a painting, being able to create depth and harmony in my samples and a better understanding of the principles behind this. Gill's art portfolio: Developmental work on the figure

http://gillsartportfolio.blogspot.com/2011/04/developmental-work-on-figure.html

Looking at my work from this year's units. Tuesday, 5 April 2011. Developmental work on the figure. This is my portfolio which shows work from black and white line, to tonal studies, to working in colour and experimenting with various themes. I particularly liked depicting sporting figures and have experimented with 'joiners' and vibrant water colours of swimmers. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Why I have selected work for my portfolio? How artists and designers use portfoloios.

Gill's art portfolio: Experimenting with abstraction

http://gillsartportfolio.blogspot.com/2011/04/experimenting-with-abstraction.html

Looking at my work from this year's units. Wednesday, 6 April 2011. Working towards a developed piece. 8211; I wanted to continue to explore the windows theme in a simplified form. I thought I would do a series of ‘windows’ having taken inspiration from George Braque (one of my chosen research artists) and. Robert Delaunay ,whose work includes different treatments of. I sketched three outline drawings in preparation and wanted to keep the simplicity and reduce the detail. As in my preliminary pieces,.

Gill's art portfolio: Evaluation of my work with the figure and sketchbook

http://gillsartportfolio.blogspot.com/2011/04/evaluation-of-my-work-with-figure-and.html

Looking at my work from this year's units. Wednesday, 6 April 2011. Evaluation of my work with the figure and sketchbook. Studies of our patient life model, and self portrayal, in the absence of anyone else. I have taken the opportunity to try to use a wide range of materials and techniques and these have included ink and wash, acrylic, watercolour, water soluble pencil, graphite, charcoal, pastels (chalk and oil), digital manipulation. As I have said previously, my understanding and appreciation of life...

I am a trainee fine art teacher conducting an independent research study looking at the potential use of social networking/blogging in Further Education. It is my aim to use ICT skills to reformat the traditional evaluative journal completed as part of the BTEC 1st Diploma, and many other art courses, in an attempt to engage students that find the current handwritten format difficult or uninspiring. What do you think?

What do you think? Thursday, November 23, 2006. I wasn't looking forward to this one. A weekly's website? Must be awful. But I'll be the first to admit I was totally wrong. I'd even go as far as to say I was impressed. I'm not quite sure what I'd been expecting - I guess I assumed one of the staffers would be responsible for its construction and it would be a cut and paste job, but it wasn't. It looked professional. Posted by Gillian Bell @ Thursday, November 23, 2006. Links to this post. All well and go...

Gill Saul is a mixed media artist who's work explores the notions of physical and mental displacement, nostalgia and belonging. Her work is a response to working and living internationally (10 years in Shanghai) and currently Singapore.
