Saturday, 11 August 2012. Snowboarding in Thredbo with an Olympics Flavour. The annual 'Harry' ski trip was scheduled in late August at Thredbo. I was unable to make those dates and resigned myself to a year without snow. As the season progressed I heard the call of the snow and couldn't ignore it. I booked a 4 day trip to Thredbo (Monday - Thursday) in the first week of August. This would be a solo mission purely for the sport. I used the Murrays. Bus service for travel between Canberra and Thredbo.

Wednesday, 25 January 2012. Grandstand Cricket - Kerry, Harsha and Chilli. Summer equals cricket and that means Grandstand cricket coverage. This is my favourite way to enjoy cricket, normally because it means I am busy relaxing with the family and listening to the coverage in the background. I could sit in front of the TV but that is a waste of time when I can help my boys construct christmas lego and listen to the Boxing day test. 1 year and 1 day after the Brisbane floods. Thursday, 9 February 2012. On Wednesday 8th February I rode to work. And home again. For the trip to work I rode over the Gateway bridge, along Kingsford Smith Drive, onto Ann St and into the city. The bridge was a steep climb but otherwise it tracked close to the river without too much up and down. I used the Runkeeper iPhone app to measure distance and time. Trip into work: Distance 20.7km at a time of 58 minutes. Trip home: Distance 18.8km at a time of 59 minutes. Removing the barriers one by one.

Wednesday, 25 January 2012. 1 year and 1 day after the Brisbane floods. Brisbane has just finished remembering the floods that ravaged the city 1 year ago. On the 15th January 2012, 1 year and 1 day after those floods we have rain across the city. Not nearly as bad, but maybe just nature letting us know that the city will flood again some time in the future. 1 year and 1 day after the Brisbane floods.
