Tales of a Korean Adventure

Tales of a Korean Adventure. Tuesday, August 17, 2010. Andrew and I decided to head up to Seoul Grand Park. It was a gorgeous park nestled in the mountains. There were no sky-scrapers to be seen, which was extremely refreshing! In the park there is a zoo. The fountain at the entrance. You can barely see the mountains in the background. It was so humid and hazy. On a trolley ride to the park. At the zoo entrance. I'm on to you, zebra. Andrew meets his match. This is us just getting on the skyway. As I've ...

Tales of a Korean Adventure: June 2010

http://ginainkorea.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Tales of a Korean Adventure. Saturday, June 12, 2010. I'm going to take a moment to talk about Korean pears. They are delicious. They are larger than most apples. They are not soft and smooshy like the pears we are familiar with. Rather, they have a juicy crunch to them. You should not eat the skin as it is very tough. And they are oh-so-delicious! Wednesday, June 2, 2010. Dallas and I went to visit my friend Ashely in Songtan, and we did Dr. Fish! We then saw him running towards us saying, "This one!

Tales of a Korean Adventure: Hwaseong at Night

http://ginainkorea.blogspot.com/2010/08/hwaseong-at-night.html

Tales of a Korean Adventure. Sunday, August 8, 2010. One night after work we went with our new co-worker to the Hwaseong. I have been wanting to go take pictures of it at night, so I was excited to jump at the opportunity. Because we live close, we decided to walk to the fortress and back. While on the journey my tripod broke miserably so many of my photos were blurry. Oh well! Tanner climbing the wall. Traditional mixed with modern architecture. I couldn't keep my tripod straight! A sea of red.

Tales of a Korean Adventure: Go pack go!

http://ginainkorea.blogspot.com/2010/08/go-pack-go.html

Tales of a Korean Adventure. Sunday, August 8, 2010. One of my students came in to class wearing a Packers shirt. I tried really hard to explain to him that this was a sports team from where I was from. He had no clue what I was talking about (English isn't his strong suit) but he agreed to a picture! Tales of a Korean Adventure: January 2010

http://ginainkorea.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Tales of a Korean Adventure. Thursday, January 21, 2010. It's not hard to believe that we are constantly laughing at our student's attempts at English. I'm sure they are on the other end laughing at our attempts at Korean. I've been meaning to post about this for a while, so I have been randomly writing things down on post-its for over a month of some of the funny things we hear. And now it is time for a Lost in Translation Update! We responded with a friendly hello, passed them, and kept walking. She tu...

Tales of a Korean Adventure: September 2009

http://ginainkorea.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Tales of a Korean Adventure. Wednesday, September 23, 2009. Sparks in My Head. Today one of my favorite students Max said something that cracked me up. He told me his head was sick. I kept asking him questions as to what he meant. "Do you have a headache? Do you have a cold? Is your nose stuffy? Does your throat hurt? All were answered with, "no". He got very excited and was trying to explain. "I have sparks in my head.". Oh So it hurts? Monday, September 21, 2009. The Water is Peeing! Many Asian people ...

My Trip to India. What I'm learning about Science, Service and Solidarity in Hyderabad. Only a few hours left. May 5, 2009. February 2, 2016. I’m sorry that I have really fallen off the blogging wagon. I promise that I have been making lots of memories and have tons of stories to tell, but right now I just can’t tear myself away from the children to sit in front of my computer. I am leaving India in 36 hours and while I can’t wait to go home, I am utterly heartbroken. April 24, 2009. February 2, 2016.

I seemed to have forgoten how much I love Seattle while being in Rome. At times I will catch myself wondering if the last three months actually transgressed.
