There are two ways to get filter parameters. One is by using straight forward get (query string) parameters and the other is by using key/value based url structure. In this sense the following two uri’s are the same:. With the exception of a few (predefined keys) all is permitted. Filter parameters are parsed in a way that they are immediatly casted to the right data type. Currently this applies to strings, integers, floats, booleans and arrays. Data parameters are mostly the same as filter parameters, except for the fact that these are read from the post body on POST and PUT requests. These values are also automatically casted to the right datatype. Within a module you can get all data parameters by using (returns an array):. Data = $this- getDataParameters();.

The modules are easily identifieable by their directory and file structure. For every module there is (usually the same as the route) a directory path, and for every action (INDEX, GET, POST, PUT, DELETE) there is a php file in that directory. If an action php file is not present, a 501 Not implemented status code is returned. So this can be an example directory structure.

There are a few parameters that are removed from the filter parameters and reserved for internal usage. This determines in what format data is returned. Can be json/jsonp/xml/phps. Defaults to json. Ginger System Parameters: $format. This limits the amount of items/data returned to you. Defaults to 10. Ginger System Parameters: $limit. Used for offset of items retrieved if applicable. Defaults to 0. Ginger System Parameters: $offset. Used to determine sorting column/field/key. Defaults to created.

The Router class is in place to enable total URI parsing. This is needed so that there is no extended memory or cpu loss in parsing the query string over and over again to find the best suited match. You can easily create this route like this:. Ginger Routes: set('/forum/posts');. The rest is done via the module handler.
