Ginny's garden: "Supremely, meticulously created"
http://ginnysgarden.blogspot.com/2011/08/supremely-meticulously-created.html
What grows in my garden. Wednesday, August 3, 2011. Supremely, meticulously created". The creation is not a study, a roughed-in sketch; it is supremely, meticulously created … even on the perfectly ordinary and clearly visible level, creation carries on with an intricacy unfathomable and apparently uncalled for.". Pilgrim at Tinker's Creek. Sunflowers and zinnias, hot summer faithfuls, are sometimes viewed as ordinary and commonplace. Yet, like all creation they are "supremely, meticulously created".

What grows in my garden. Sunday, January 9, 2011. The flowers of late winter and early spring occupy places in our hearts. Well out of proportion to their size.". Gertrude S. Wister. The buds begin forming on the Camellia japonica 'Professor Sargent' in my garden around Thanksgiving. The first blooms appear in early January and by mid-March the shrubs are covered in blooms. The first director of the Arnold Arboretum at Harvard University. The blooms are anything but chilly even when dusted with snow.

Ginny's garden: Sweet on the Sweet Gum
http://ginnysgarden.blogspot.com/2013/03/sweet-on-sweet-gum.html
What grows in my garden. Sunday, March 3, 2013. Sweet on the Sweet Gum. Yesterday I was playing hopscotch with two of my young grandsons. Instead of a pebble to toss on the board, we used a Sweet Gum ball. If you have Sweet Gum trees in your garden, it's good to look for creative uses for those seed pods - you will have an abundant supply of them. And, along with leaves and pine needles, they linger at the end of my driveway. On close inspection, nestled in the grass, they look beautiful but dangerous.

GrammaResa's Blog: September 2011
http://grammaresa.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Life is not a sprint, it's a Marathon! Friday, September 30, 2011. IT's Friday, and payday and one day closer to the race. I can't believe that next week at this time, we will be in So. Cal preparing for the race on Sunday. It doesn't seem real that it could be here already. Has it really been almost 11 months since I started this journey? Can I really run 13.1 miles? Can we have fun without them? Are you kidding me? I read an article by Drew Carey (host of The Price is Right) who has lost quite a bit of...

http://grammaresa.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Life is not a sprint, it's a Marathon! Thursday, February 28, 2013. I'm never amazed anymore when it comes to CHANGE. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? These past couple of years have thrown that theory right out with the bath water. My tastes and my way of thinking, when it comes to food, have really done an about face. This morning I was reading "5 Fats That Don't Make You Fat". From the Hungry for Change website. They are: coconut oil, nuts, avocado, seeds and olive oil. Well, Why Not?

Life out of doors. Appreciating the beauty around us. Book Review: “52 Loaves” by William Alexander. Praying Mantis Explosion →. On starting my fortieth year, and fall color. November 19, 2010. I turned 39 yesterday. It was not terribly traumatic. I got my very own key lime pie, my very own Great Harvest Bread Company baguette, and a new Barefoot Contessa cookbook. (Remember last week when I said the end of daylight savings time was making me hungry? Okay – so why all the fall foliage pictures? Decidedly...

Ginny's Frieday
Finding joy on a Frieday…. I wrote this last spring. Funny how chaos doesn’t change much from season to season. I can hear a voice say. Not really, says my sense of reality. Just trying to control it long enough to have a moment to breathe. I finally have a moment. Hide between the words you write when you do take the time to stop for a moment. I have hidden there before and maybe that is why words bring comfort to a life of chaos. I find lately, though, that there is something in between the lin...So ma...

Ginny's garden
What grows in my garden. Sunday, June 25, 2017. Back to the Beginning. I didn't plan to walk away from posting for over four years. I'm not even sure what has kept me away. But here I am, starting over, going back to the beginning when I posted primarily as a convenient way to keep a garden journal. Today, only photos, but I hope to grow this habit again with some notes and observations. Luna Hibiscus with a bee hanging on. Autumn Sedum holding big drops of rain from showers overnight. Dill gone to flower.
