Paperlady's Sketch Journal: August 2008
http://sculptedpaper.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 30, 2008. See Our TV Splash. My apologies—the technilogical aspects of posting this last weekend didn't work out, especially when your sweet husband forgets to pack the wireless card! The satellite truck and crew were already there. The lake was. That morning, just as smooth as silk. Here's the pontoon boat that the cameraman would later film from. As it became lighter out, people stopped, attracted by the satellite truck and armada of amphicars. I heard several comments, "I'm going ...

Paperlady's Sketch Journal: November 2007

Monday, November 05, 2007. More on Robert's Snow. A few weeks ago I attended to reception at Child at Heart Gallery. For the Robert's Snow. Display. I met up with old friends Ilene Richard. And Mary Newell DePalma. Here they are chatting outside the gallery. Both are very talented and ironically (or not), they both created 3D snowflakes as well. Ilene and I had lunch where she shared with me her latest pb dummy. Meeting up with old friends is great, but so is meeting new ones. Do you remember my post.

Paperlady's Sketch Journal: A Recent School Visit
http://sculptedpaper.blogspot.com/2009/10/recent-school-visit.html
Thursday, October 08, 2009. A Recent School Visit. Last week I visited the children at Tuftonboro Central School. As the crow flies, Tuftonboro is maybe 10 miles away, but when you have to drive all around Lake Winnipesaukee to get there, it takes about an hour. It was a nice fall day and well worth the time. Here's why: after driving for an hour, drinking my super-large-soda-with-ice-and-a-straw that accompanies me on every long drive (89¢ @ Irving stations! I loved them all! Labels: Good Morning Garden.

Now, John seems like an intelligent guy and he's entitle to his opinion but . . . he is clearly in need of more interesting pursuits in his life. In his post, John opins about the evils of the author bio being longer than the text in children's. Books (yes, he counted them). He uses Good Morning, Garden. Links to this post.

The Picture Book that became Hound Dog True - CROOKED PERFECT
http://lurban.livejournal.com/53121.html
Because small things matter. Powered by LiveJournal.com. The Picture Book that became Hound Dog True. Like my first novel, A Crooked Kind of Perfect. Began as a picture book. It started with the characters: shy Mattie, gregarious Uncle Potluck, a Mama who seemed not to understand her daughter entirely. The moon was there from the beginning, too. But not much else. Over the next few weeks, I thought Id talk a little bit about the evolution of Hound Dog True. Now remember, this is an early. I really enjoye...

Sep 27th, 2008 at 5:51 PM. Remember that commercial with the kids who make Mikey 'try' the cereal first, while they wait to see whether or not he likes it? And the eventual jaw-drop when Mikey proceeds to eat, and eat, and eat? Well, that THUD was the sound of my jaw dropping. Because ohmigoodness. THEY LIKED IT! Congratulations to everyone who sent in an entry for the SCBWI Works-in-Progress grants! 7 comments Leave a comment. Sep 27th, 2008 11:56 pm (UTC). That's so awesome and so well deserved!
