Very nice country house hotel near Brockenhurst. We just caught the train into Southampton to tackle the sales - although we are pretty relaxed and probably lacking the stamina for a full assault. We got back on Sunday from a great week in Austria skiing with some old uni chums and a few new friends. All limbs intact and livers exercised. We indulged in Austrian culture, mainly cake, strudel, pancakes and hot chocolate - all of which they excel at. This afternoon we took the shuttle bus to our sister hotel which has a nature reserve and Orang-utan rescue centre. We were guided through the jungle to a feeding platform which allows the Orang-utans to choose to come for a feed in the morning and afternoon. Last night we had dinner at the Yacht Club after picking up our cards (thanks Dad! And watched the lights in the harbour. It is currently the Mid- Autumn Festival and there are lots of events happening. Last night there was a big lantern carnival at Victoria Park with lots of lights, displays and thousands of people. The only official online news page for Alex and Rachel. Saturday, 2 July 2011. Having spent a really cold night under canvas we woke to a sunny day. We drove first to Fowey and then caught a little ferry boat to Mevagissey ( picture below). After a quick wander around and lunch we headed back on the ferry.
