So the plan is for Grif to ride solo from Canada, through the US and Central America to Panama, where I will either put the bike on a plane to Bogota or a boat to Cartagena, Colombia, there I will make my way down to see Russ a top bloke who I know from Dragoman Overland - we worked in Central America and Mexico for 6 months together. So here we are a week plus later.its easy to be embarrassed at only doing 461km from home before having a bad accident, (Maybe thats some sort of overlanding record? I hadnt even got out of Canada - by 20 km - but life is more important than that. Who do I have to thank after this? Środa, 29 grudnia 2010. Dzisiaj wjechaliśmy do Peru. Dokonaliśmy długiego skoku. Jesteśmy w Mollendo nad Pacyfikiem. Droga była nieco dłuższa, niż zakładałem, 534 km, okazało się. Rozpoczęliśmy wcześnie, na granicy Peru otrzymaliśmy dodatkowo w prezencie jedną godzinę (teraz jesteśmy przesunięci o 6 godzin w stosunku do czasu polskiego). Mimo to u celu byliśmy już po zmroku. Długi dzień. Formalności na granicy poszły bardzo sprawnie, zarówno po stronie Boliwii, jak i Peru. W czwartek Sylwester na plaży.

Bogota leży na wysokości 2600 m. Mimo, że to prawie równik, wilgotny klimat, który już zdążyliśmy poznać w Kolumbii i Ekwadorze, sprawia, że jest chłodno. Ulewny deszcz obserwowaliśmy z knajpki na przeciwko hotelu. Dopiero po paru godzinach rozpogodziło się nieco i wyszliśmy na miasto. Samolot do domu mamy wieczorem. Dzisiejszy dzień ro...

Poniedziałek, 21 lutego 2011. Planeta Rica - Cartagena. Wstaliśmy dość wcześnie. Pewnie za sprawą ciężarówek, które od rana jeździły główną ulicą. Hotel był dosyć kiepski, więc szybko się spakowaliśmy i poszliśmy na śniadanie. Było drogo i niesmacznie. Z jeszcze większym zapałem ruszyliśmy do Cartageny. Droga była łatwa, kilka przejazdów przez mniejsze miasteczka, coś do picia, tankowanie i dalej. W Cartagenie jest dokładnie tak, jak opisywał Tata. Bardzo ciepło i bardzo przyjemnie. Wtorek, 8 lutego 2011. Cuenca - Riobamba - Quito. Wczorajszy poranek w Cuenca był pochmurny. Po śniadaniu postanowiliśmy przejść się po tym pięknym mieście. Do Quito położonego na wysokości 2700m zjeżdża się z Panamericany stromo w dół. Położone w dolinie miasto jest bardzo długie. Dotarcie do hotelu zajęło sporo. Na szczęście deszcz złagodniał. Piątek, 28 stycznia 2011. Limę opuściliśmy wczoraj rano. Małgosia wyleciała do Polski. Już jest w domu. Bardzo szybko minęła nasza wspólna podróż. Jacek i ja jedziemy dalej na północ. Wczorajszy dzień zakończyliśmy w Barranca nad Pacyfikiem, około 200 km na północ od Limy. Dzisiaj powróciliśmy w góry. Why wasn't there any place to stay near campus that was reasonably priced? Why did the hotels and motels within a 50 mile radius "price gouge" the fans and double their rates for football weekends?
