Camp Maxwelton is a four week residential summer camp for boys ages 9 to 15 located in the beautiful mountains of Virginia. Camp Maxwelton was first opened in 1949 by the late Coach Lee M. McLaughlin. Always owned by the McLaughlins, the camp has been in successful, continuous operation since it was established. Camp Maxwelton Summer Camp for Boys. Our Location & Facilities. Camp Maxwelton has a full and varied activity program, and each camper participates in all phases of it. All camp activities are carefully supervised. Basic skills in many different sports are taught, and fundamentals are stressed. Good sportsmanship in all camp life is emphasized. 8:10 am Flag Raising. 10:00 a.m Activities (4 periods). 3:30-5:30 pm Team games and swim call. 7:00 pm Free Time. 8:00 pm Camp Gathering. 9:00 pm Health Check.
