April 2015 wurde das Mitglied der GIScience Kommission und Leiter des FWF DK Doktoratskollegs für GIScience Prof Thomas Blaschke (Universität Salzburg) zum korrespondieren Mitglied der philosphisch-historischen Klasse der ÖAW gewählt. Damit sind die Kommission und auch das Fach Geoinformatik / Geographic Information Science noch stärker an der Akademie verankert. Herzliche Gratulation an Prof. Blaschke.
