Community Banking with GIVE: April 2012
http://communitybankingwithgive.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Community Banking with GIVE. Monday, 30 April 2012. I just landed in Nairobi a few hours ago, made it though immigration and the traffic of Nairobi to arrive at the house I am staying at. I am going to spend a couple days here now with my brother's old roomate's family. Small world eh? Anyways the flight was pretty good, in terms of time from door to door it was roughly 26 hours in real time? Just a few thoughts from my flight before I head to bed:. 2 Some lesson's learned from my flight: Never fill your...

Community Banking with GIVE: A Mountain of Oogali
http://communitybankingwithgive.blogspot.com/2012/06/mountain-of-oogali.html
Community Banking with GIVE. Monday, 25 June 2012. A Mountain of Oogali. As promised here is a (comprehensive) summary of more of my last week:. They hadn’t told us that the place was an insurance broker, but despite the confusing appearance, they did offer to make business cards. Joseph was mentioning how important saving was to him because it allowed him to take his children to the hospital when they got sick, so that was a real world example of how saving can change your life. Everyone (including Maur...

Community Banking with GIVE. Wednesday, 11 July 2012. My last couple days in Kenya. Once our session with Rose wrapped up, she took us part of the way to Joice’s house, where we were greeted by one of Joice’s children. Joice is a very interesting woman.50 years old, given birth to 14 children, I think 10 of them are still alive, and one is working on her Masters in engineering. Having a soda and some cookies with Sally. Katie and I with Chief Philip. Pamela's yard with her boy's house on the left. Our tw...

Community Banking with GIVE: May 2012
http://communitybankingwithgive.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Community Banking with GIVE. Thursday, 31 May 2012. Hope that you all had a pleasant week. This week was an exciting one for the project as we got to meet all the board members and start their training! As I will explain later, the reasons for not posting in so long was that all of our training sessions got moved ahead a few days, and we have been very busy trying to keep up with that as a result. I will leave my rambling story at this point; to hopefully then get you all fully caught up this afternoon.

Alright I will leave it at that for now, will try and post again tonight, then tomorrow sometime as well. 24 June 2012 at 01:55.
