Giving In Blogger

Giving in to life, one poopy diaper at a time. Friday, November 21, 2014. Politics, Not as Usual. I don’t often share political views on the internet (lengthy ones, at that). However, I'd like to do some sharing now- partly because I’m continuing to learn things about myself that I haven’t known before. So I’m excited when I discover something new. Tonight I learned one reason that I refuse to affiliate myself to one political party. Do tell, you ask? Well, okay, you asked. What spurred this learning?

Giving In Blogger: January 2010

http://www.givinginblogger.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Giving in to life, one poopy diaper at a time. Monday, January 11, 2010. Top Twelve in 2009 - #12. Last year was eventful, to say the least. Since I failed to document a lot of our family's (and solely my own selfish) thoughts and adventures/not so adventures in 2009, this little series will be an attempt to catch up. 12 - The Dilemma. Now for the dilemma. If stranded on a desert island (equipped with electricity, of course) would I take my steam mop, or my other favorite purchase of 2009:. This is Frank...

Giving in to life, one poopy diaper at a time. Saturday, January 2, 2010. Don't you love a new anything? Giving In Blogger: Top Twelve in 2009: #11 - Colorado

http://www.givinginblogger.blogspot.com/2010/02/11-colorado.html

Giving in to life, one poopy diaper at a time. Saturday, February 6, 2010. Top Twelve in 2009: #11 - Colorado. I am completely in love with Colorado! I was bitter and tearful, and blatantly decided that no other place would ever live up. The result = me withdrawing. 2009 was hard. I haven't felt like talking. I haven't felt like blogging because most of my feelings were sadness masked by a fake smile. And it's hard to mask that in writing. I can now safely say that I'm (mostly). While I was incubating.

Jemily and the little people: June 2009

http://jemilyandthelittlepeople.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

Saturday, June 20, 2009. Ok, so technically we're not actually homeless. We're currently living with my wonderful in-laws, who are gracious enough to let us hang out here whilst we look for our new home sweet home. Since I am not paying rent or a mortgage yet am not living in a cardboard box, let's just say I'm between domiciles. I'd rather stay up here than run 188 miles. Jane: "Mmmm, I just love Slime popsicles.". Me: "Jane, that's not slime… it's lime.". Jane: "I know, Slime.". Me: "It's LIME.". So wi...

Monday, November 16, 2009. A Rite of Passage and A Giraffe in Trouble. So there comes a time in every small child's life where they must experiment with scissors.and hair. Some just cut the hair of their favorite doll or My Little Pony. Some cut their real hair. Like mine did. On Saturday. The day before the primary program and 2 days before her first day of preschool in her new hometown. Yup. Jane chopped her hair. Huh Random post but here it is all the same. Monday, November 02, 2009. I think I have be...

Sunday, January 25, 2009. A shower for the birds. Anyway, knowing I wanted to throw a good party, and knowing that creative genius is definitely something I was born without, I called Andrea.'cause she Einstein when it comes to creative genius. Here was Andrea's challenge - figure how to throw a cute shower that was gender-neutral and something that didn't involve lots of cutesy pastel colors - Sarah just isn't a pink and light blue kinda gal. Here was what she came up with:. The guest(s) of honor. SO, t...

Wednesday, September 30, 2009. The Last of the Summer Adventures, Part 2: Canyoneering in Zion. I can imagine a Viking dad getting his immediate family together and having a conversation like this:. Sons, it's time we planned next year's family vacation. What should we do? How about rowing a boat up a waterfall? Nah, too easy. What about playing tag with the sharks again? Jevan (brother in-law) (and yes, it is a Nordic name I'll have you know):. How about we pick an activity that won't get someone killed?

Tuesday, May 25, 2010. The Happy-ish Place on Earth. We went with some friends who also have 2 small kids. They were smart and decided to fly. We decided to save money and drive. I actually highly recommend driving to Disneyland - we made great time, kids were happy, all went smoothly. I just don't recommend driving HOME from Disneyland. Instead, board a jet that travels somewhere around the speed of light. It was over 12 hours of torture. The girl thrives on adrenaline. Let the magic begin! The must- ha...

Sunday, October 18, 2009. Who doesn't love this time of year? Anyway, here is what I have to show for it. Tuesday, October 13, 2009. Fall is finally here and it is about time I write another family update. I guess this has to be a short post because there is trouble brewin' in the other room with the little ones. It will be strange not living with my parents in the basement. It has been so fun to have my parents around all the time to talk to. I can't believe how many nights my mom and I have...So the ot...

Thursday, January 28, 2010. I had a choice for what to do tonight: finish my taxes or blog. It proved to be an interesting conundrum. However, the guilt for not having posted since Thanksgiving finally overcame the inevitability of the taxman and I decided to do the irresponsible, more fun thing. Besides, one of my coworkers, a notorious blog stalker (Hi Caplan! Told me she needed something to read during one of the otherwise boring meetings she gets to attend. It doesn't look all that important. So, fee...

Jemily and the little people: April 2009

Tuesday, April 21, 2009. The wonderful thing about Janeys and Allies. Every kid does funny things. And every parent think their kids are hilarious. Mine are no different, so please forgive me for regaling you with a few of the most recent ones. Especially when she's probably right? Is that good or what? To which she innocently replied "That's what, Dad.". 3) Allie, on the other hand, is convinced that she is going to be the next American Idol. She and Jane play this game where they stand up on the co...

Thursday, November 06, 2008. Definitely a Spooky Snowman. Hooray for our first snow day! It feels like thoughts and information bounce into my brain, then right back out again, just as quickly.). The girls were all crazy about the snow too - I just about strapped Jane down in her booster seat to get her to eat breakfast. I had to keep reassuring her that the snow would not melt while she was eating her banana. I decided we needed to take advantage of this snow day and do it up right. The main attraction ...
