Trail through high ridge larch-laden slopes. Glacier Peak centers mountains to the north. Walking towards Pyramid Mountain. Wind blows up the canyons. Each step skitters up grasshoppers. The tune in my head. The creaking of my pack. Up and down switch-backs. Larch twig knobby trail-side detritus. Come to meadow full of gentians.
