Glanalaw - delighting in pure song: October 2013
http://glanalaw.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Glanalaw - delighting in pure song. Wednesday, 30 October 2013. This one has been a long time in the works! Back in the winter of 2012 designer Becky Herrick (here are her blog. And her Ravelry page. Asked me to be a test-knitter for her new pattern, which would appear in the pattern book " What (Else) Would Madame Defarge Knit? The dress itself is surprisingly simple and quick to knit. It's worked up in a worsted/aran weight wool and since it's worked in the round, the stockinette stitch body is pre...

Glanalaw - delighting in pure song: July 2013

Glanalaw - delighting in pure song. Friday, 19 July 2013. You can't win them all. This week it's been incredibly hot and humid, and I realised while staring at my closet trying to pick clothes that I don't have many good "every-day" summer dresses. I needed to fix that! So I dug through my fabric shelf and pulled out this blue and white gingham, which was actually a queen-size sheet from the thrift store. It's sturdy and fairly crisp but very soft, and I thought it would make a nice dress. I can make all...

Glanalaw - delighting in pure song. Sunday, 30 June 2013. Yesterday I went with a friend to the BalloonFest. It happens annually but I think it's been at least 6 years since I went! This was also the first time I didn't go with my family, so that was interesting. There are vendors and carnival rides and junk food, and of course hot air balloons. We wandered and looked at everything, ran into a few people we knew, ate bad-for-you but tasty carnival food, rode a few rides, and generally had a blast! I've g...

Glanalaw - delighting in pure song: January 2015
http://glanalaw.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Glanalaw - delighting in pure song. Sunday, 11 January 2015. I am finally getting around to posting some of the Christmas knitting! Possibly the only Christmas knitting which is actually finished yet - but shhhhh, don't tell anyone that! These socks are for my brother's girlfriend, who spent two weeks with us in her first visit to the frozen north. When I was at her place this summer I was knitting a pair of socks and she dropped several broad hints about wanting some herself, so how could I refuse?

Glanalaw - delighting in pure song. Saturday, 30 May 2015. Knitting time lately has been pretty limited, but I did finish a pair of gloves for myself back in February! Yarn is KnitPicks Gloss fingering - a merino/silk blend which is one of my favourites; warm, strong, and very soft! These gloves got a lot of wear during the second half of the winter, and I'm looking forward to wearing them again next year. Please leave a comment! Conversation is what makes blogging fun :-). Glanalaw - delighting in pure song. Saturday, 26 January 2013. Some of you may remember when I went to see Keane back in June, and the transformer blew out and set a fire, cutting the concert short. A little too much excitement for me! Well, they came back to Nashville in spite of this misfortune, so we went again. Tom He does this a lot. But it works for him, so who cares? Tim, on keyboards. He was way on the other side of the stage so quite hard to get good photos. This is from our concert! So Justin a...

Glanalaw - delighting in pure song: November 2014
http://glanalaw.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Glanalaw - delighting in pure song. Sunday, 30 November 2014. Oh, guys, I seem to have taken a year-long hiatus from blogging. It was completely unintentional, but somewhat refreshing to be honest! But I'm going to make an effort to get back into this blogging thing with at least some regularity, and this season of quiet, the dying of the year, the anticipation of Advent, seems like a good time for a new beginning.
