Withered hands and wild-eyed wonder. 8220;…Once you were a child. Once you knew what inquiry was for. There was a time when you asked questions because you wanted answers, and were glad when you had found them. Become that child again: even now.”. Jesus came to remind them of something written in their own Pentateuch. Deuteronomy 7:7-8:. It is interesting is it not, th...

Sunday, February 9, 2014. Those of you who supported us during 2013 should have received a Christmas card. We thought we should take a new family photo with our "children." I thought I would just post some of the "negatives" that we got along the way. We weren't really ready at first, but the dogs never really were. The last one is definitely the best. I am truly blessed. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Snapshots in your Inbox. A dome of many coloured glass". Delani at Strand beach, Capetown.

Wednesday, October 17, 2012. Sometimes life in mission work is frustrating. Some days I want to quit and go back home, find a 9 to 5 and settle down to raise my 2.5 kids and live the American dream. Sometimes. Only for a moment. If I am crucified with Christ and my life is no longer my own, then all thoughts of sacrifice and deprivation are deceptive and hellish at best. Sunday, October 7, 2012. The living room will come next. Tomorrow starts a new school term. God has provided the funds. Like the be...

Tuesday, August 7, 2012. Some day well teach at a small school and play and watch the snow fall. Today we have a treat. The first snowfall like this in five years. Naturally I was the favorite target. Just a few snapshots from the iPod. The only sad part about it all; it's nowhere near Christmas. Monday, August 6, 2012. In this post I exceed my skill set.again. I last posted what I had finished by Wednesday evening when after much trial, I got the first plank in place. While I was busy with that, Bokang ...

Sunday, September 16, 2012. After working late the other night cutting stones, I caught the sunset before it was completely gone. Here is the first glimpse of the house. The next Saturday I needed to keep going so here are just a few pictures of getting sand, the view I have while working sometimes. My efficient concrete mixer and laying bricks for the first time. And here is the house in daylight. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Snapshots in your Inbox. A dome of many coloured glass".

Sunday, November 17, 2013. Dancing in the kitchen. Kind of hard to believe that 48 years ago, American troops were fighting for their lives half a world away in the Ia Drang Valley. My heart goes out to all the wives whose dance was replaced with a telegraph and a life forever changed. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Snapshots in your Inbox. A dome of many coloured glass". Tuesday, July 24, 2012. Delani and I are back from our vacation and we are settling into life.well, we would if we had a place to settle. This post is about our homelessness and what we are doing about it. We live in a lovely little apartment that is heavy on the little. It is located in what was a Catholic mission a few miles from town. This is Delani in our living room-kitchen-dining room-study. Notice the amazing chocolate chip cookies that kept disappearing as I worked on our newsletter. Photography ...

Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Christ and the fishes.but not the time you're thinking of. There are definite rewards to teaching English as a second language in books that were never meant for that. I get to laugh quite a bit. Today I burst out laughing in one of my students faces (unintentionally of course). This was his sentence:. 8220;AD was born God created light.”. 8220;Okay, so you were just trying to use “after Christ” in the sentence, but what are you trying to say here.”. Needless to say, we didn&...
