The Grog and Gruel. Is a tongue in cheek name to reflect the relaxed and informal atmosphere of our Traditional Alehouse and Restaurant. Don’t take our name too literally though. We’ve moved on a long way from the days of sailor’s rum punch and watery oatmeal porridge. Way back when…. Back in the early ’90s, with an already proven track record for providing hospitality at Clachaig Inn. We decided we wanted to bring good beer, great food and a traditional pub atmosphere to the High Street in Fort William.

Was brought in on Valentine's Day by Yusuf's Wall Street insider. What can I say, the man is the Prince of the City! On the trading floor where all the action is. Not many people get to do that and see the ringing of the bell. For the love of money, indeed. My idea of Wall St. has always been informed by the Oliver Stone movie. Caught the ringing of the bell!
