Stuff in my Head. Monday, May 7, 2012. Charter Schools, Good or Bad? I teach at a Charter School. Last year my son attended a Charter School. I'm generally in favor of the idea. But I am more in favor of local control of schools. I favor the local community paying their property taxes to largely support their local schools. I am opposed to a recent bill in the Georgia State House to allow the state to create new charter schools without input from the local school board. Why? Charter Schools, Good or Bad?
