The Great Loop is mostly traveled counterclockwise, and to avoid hurricanes and ice, you spend the summer in the Great Lakes, head south in the fall, winter in Florida and head up the east coast around April/May. A couple and their dog traveling The Great Loop on their Grand Banks 42. Crocket loves his boat! The following list is what we decided was most important for us to make our boat safe for many voyages to come. A flaw among Grand Banks, we had the old steel tanks replaced with aluminum tanks. All exhaust hoses, fuel lines and fuel manifold were replaced. We painted out the entire engine room while the fuel tanks were removed (I'm proud to say I painted port side! Our engine room is now bright and clean).
