Saturday, September 6, 2014. The Collared Kingfisher, known locally as the Sihek, is an indigenous bird here. Quite an attractive bird but very noisy and sometime vicious to other birds and sometime to its own species. I've frequently seen it fly through a group of smaller birds shrieking and scaring them off. Once I saw it attack a Sparrow which lay on the ground stunned for sometime. Before the sun was up preparations were underway at Kammer Beach and people were gathering to greet the sun for the start of the 2015 Swim – Bike – Run Triathlon. Then participants began gathering on the beach or taking preliminary dips. Triangular route buoys were the same orangey yellow as the shirts of many of the Triathlon and Festival workers.

I have always hated margarine. It doesn't matter what brand, as a child I wouldn't go near it. I hated the horrible plasticy chemical smell, the texture and the (to me) slightly rancid flavour of the stuff.
