Noreen heard an amazing story from her work colleague Matthew Amend of how a few people have turned an abandoned mining town into a Christian mission helping orphans. In February 2010 GCF sent new and nearly new baby and childrens clothing to Lee Anne McFarland for the ABC Orphanage in Bulembu . The GCF donated 3,100 to support this project. The Daughters of The Holy Ghost, a UK registered charity have built a new Kindergarten in Iugani in the north-east of Romania. Iugani is a small rural village, whose economy relies largely on agriculture and lacks the most basic of services e.g. piped water, drainage systems, decent roads, rubbish collection. We raised £3,100 which went towards building the water well and school equipment. Registered Charity No 1118775.

Noreen our founder, was so touched by their situation, she resolved that the GCF would help raise the £5,500 required. She felt that raising this amount of money was extremely achievable, and the effect on the children of the community would be astonishing. The funds donated will pay for the total cost of building the hall including;. School furniture i.e. chairs and desks. Tiling for the kitchen, toilets and stage. Giving even a little for Sierra Leone will make such a dramatic difference.
