A Voice in the Darkness: September 2005
http://tirithien.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
A Voice in the Darkness. A story of a man, listening to the soft voices in the darkness. Tuesday, September 27, 2005. These are the moments I thank God that I'm alive. So runs a popular song, but ever think about what it really means to be alive? How do we define it? There's the basic biological definitions, heart rate, breathing, brain function, but they have limit. It is possible, given enough money and resources, to keep a body "alive" forever. But, is it truly alive? What do you do? 7 Folks saying hi.

A Voice in the Darkness: August 2005
http://tirithien.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
A Voice in the Darkness. A story of a man, listening to the soft voices in the darkness. Wednesday, August 31, 2005. The summer fades. The days grow shorter, the nights grow longer, the blistering heat of July is giving way slowly to the crisp coolness of September. For some, the loss of summer is a true sadness, as it is also the call of school, of an oncoming winter, and of a return to weather dreary. Yet, for now, no such thought crosses my mind. Why? I care not. Fall? Posted by Tirithien at 8:05 PM.

I did not realize how afraid I was for President Obama until after the inauguration went off successfully and I discovered how relieved I actually was. (Paper written in late November 2008.). Given the great diversity of ideas and t...

A Voice in the Darkness. A story of a man, listening to the soft voices in the darkness. Saturday, July 30, 2005. Seeking answers in the flames. Every once in a while, when I have deep questions that need answered, I rely on an old technique I love- build a fire, let the world go silent around you, and listen. Answers are usually given, and pretty clearly. The flames have been asked many questions through the years- med school, life and love, trial and triumph- and they have never failed me. Won in a pok...
