Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing: August 2010
http://gnomeiswheretheheartis.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. Because I owe it all to Judy Blume. Sunday, August 22, 2010. Not Like The Movies. I could call this "Things I Hate" a la Daniel Tosh.but I'm not going to. I'm instead going to call it pet peeves. Hate's a strong word, and truth be told, I've now been driven home in a Rover and partially paid for one for an African village so I feel like an imposter to say I hate them. That being said. In no particular order). 4 Icing/ Lotion/ Sour cream. I feel like I have to shave every ...
Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing: July 2011
http://gnomeiswheretheheartis.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. Because I owe it all to Judy Blume. Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Let us not dwell on the fact that I haven't posted in four months, but yet enjoy today's entry. In short, I've now solved the mystery of how some people could spend $2.99 a minute (or more) on a phone psychic. On a recent trip to New York City, a friend and I stumbled across a psychic sitting on an array of blankets on the stairs of Union Square. Her name? Ursula. We think. I was obviously cool with the first t...

Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. Because I owe it all to Judy Blume. Tuesday, March 1, 2011. As Time Goes By. My gma, Mary Imogene (insert last name here) turns 88 today. So now, in no particular order, 88 things I love about her. 1 Her stories. (Not to be confused with her "stories."). 2 The way she listens to my stories. 3 How comfortable I am around her, talking to her. 5 Her love of children. 6 The look on her face when she opens the door and I'm standing there. 8 The way she says "yesterday.". 36 Th...

Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. Because I owe it all to Judy Blume. Friday, January 21, 2011. Greetings From Skunksville, USA. I knew I was getting better when I took a look at myself in the mirror today and was horrified at the caterpillars crawling across my forehead. I'll take care of them tomorrow. Nothing like a good eyebrow wax to mark a recovery. But first, this story. Or tale. On not only our actual persons but also our home. You see, it's nothing to with inside and outside lights on, door open,...

Under The Dresser: September 2010
http://underthedresser.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 21, 2010. I read this book last month and barely remember it. Naughty book blogger. What I can say is that I was impressed and disappointed by this book. The novel follows a variety of people in the same small town, all of which are touched in one way or another - some in larger ways than others - by retired school teacher Olive Kitteridge. Each chapter introduces you to a new person and while some stories connect, most chapters can almost stand alone. Tuesday, September 21, 2010.

Under The Dresser: January 2011
http://underthedresser.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 6, 2011. I can't even remember. I've read so many books since last posting that I can't even remember them. Or maybe it's because so many of them were Terrible that I don't remember them? Regardless, I'm going to stop apologizing for the infrequent posts of late because, well, I'm not actually sorry. I will now present to you the blog post equivalent of a mash-up wherein I tell you what I've read (and can remember) in the last month or so. Expectations not met. Leading me to:. Thursday,...
Under The Dresser: Summer Reads
http://underthedresser.blogspot.com/2012/12/summer-reads.html
Monday, December 17, 2012. So This is awkward. It's like you've called and left a few messages and I haven't called back. You're not sure if I'm mad or just flaky. Well, the answer is flaky. I've been updating my personal blog regularly (jillsdailynote.blogspot.com) but my book blog has taken a major back seat this year. I'm still reading - in fact I'm now in 2 book clubs! Through Rushing Water - Historical fiction and my hazy memory gives it 3.5 stars. Juliet - 4.5 stars. This was romantic and i...Seati...
Under The Dresser: Winter Reads
http://underthedresser.blogspot.com/2012/05/winter-reads.html
Wednesday, May 23, 2012. I'm not going to lie. After Game of Thrones, this second book in the series was a bit of a snoozer. I still read all 5 million pages but was hoping for more action. I'm also still waiting for this series to get a little romantic. I mean, I love dragons and warriors as much as the next girl, but when are these lonely teenagers going to finally discover each other? And is Shae really just humoring Tyrion? A Visit from the Goon Squad. The Man from Beijing. Wednesday, May 23, 2012.

Friday, June 17, 2011. 40 Day Blog Jog - Day 22 - The Elephant in the Waiting Room. The Elephant in the Waiting Room. Is Sally Zigmond's blog. Sally writes short stories and is the author of. I love reading her blog, of course, else I wouldn't have it as part of my Blog Jog (which incidentally, has been a bit harder than I thought). I met Sally at the Writer's Festival in York earlier this year. She is a lovely lady. She's approachable, kind, no-nonsense and had great advice about writing. Is a registere...

Just another WordPress.com site. September 22, 2011. 8212; gnomeintx @ 3:26 am. WOW, it’s been forever since I posted! But I really want to work on writing and enjoying all of my hobbies, so I’m going to try and make time for the blog. This week I’m going to recap what I’ve read over the past week, as well as the books I’ve read and reported on for my Adult Materials and Reading Interests class. First up this week, I read. Which End Is Up? This week I also finished. The Name of the Wind. By Patrick Rothf...
