Psalm 34:3 Family: My Story of Infertility and PCOS
https://psalm343family.blogspot.com/2015/05/my-story-of-infertility-and-pcos.html
Tuesday, May 19, 2015. My Story of Infertility and PCOS. I always knew I wanted to be a mom. I was the kid who played with my dolls until I was 12. About then, I traded in my dolls for babysitting - and I loved it. Children were always a part of my dreams for my future. I married at 21, and got flack for marrying young. I was encouraged to wait a few years before having children. So, we decided we would use birth control pills at first. I had no idea what a mistake I was making. Many tears came in the da...

Monday, June 30, 2014. The Bottom of the Ice Cream Cone. Recently, we explained the symbolism behind the bottom of the ice cream cone to my girls, and so the tradition continues with them now. She exclaimed in her sweet toddler voice. So enjoying her dessert, I expected her to eat every last bite like she usually does. But all of a sudden I heard her say, "Here. For you, Mommy! She held out her offering of love with so much joy, and total selflessness. It made my heart explode! Am I like Heaven? Am I lik...

Psalm 34:3 Family: September 2013

Tuesday, September 24, 2013. When Tragedy Came Calling. As I sat there sorting bank statements, reflecting on all of this impending change, the phone rang. And tragedy came calling. The next 6 hours felt like a lifetime, each minute felt like an hour. I remember making some pasta for dinner for my family, and just sitting there stirring the pot, waiting for the 10 minutes to pass, and it felt like forever. Downloaded onto my iPod, and all I could think to do during that flight was to read. We think he he...

Psalm 34:3 Family: July 2013
https://psalm343family.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 12, 2013. I'm joining in for a "flash mob of writing" called "Five Minute Friday.". THE Rule: Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking. The Topic of the Week: Present. All of a sudden my "Middle Little" came running up from the beach exclaiming "Look at this beautiful rock Mama! Can I keep it? No" I quickly exclaimed. My normally compliant daughter pleaded with me. Fine" I sighed. "Put it in your backpack.". She pointed to them, "Look Mama what I did for you!

Psalm 34:3 Family: The Man He is Becoming
https://psalm343family.blogspot.com/2014/06/the-man-he-is-becoming.html
Monday, June 9, 2014. The Man He is Becoming. When you get married as young as I did, you are marrying a man who is still very much a boy. You look at him and see all his potential, you see him for the man he will be, but not yet is, because in all reality, your'e still both kids. And there's something amazing about getting to journey with this person for such a long time and watch the transformation happen from the potential to the reality. Last night was one of those moments. After the weekend was over...

Psalm 34:3 Family: March 2015
https://psalm343family.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 9, 2015. I've been hiding a little lately. I don't think anyone has noticed. But maybe, you have, if you are reading this. Today a section in 2 Samuel 16 really helped me and gave me something to consider and reinforce my heart with. There's this scene, as David is fleeing for his life from his son Absalom, that this man, a relative of Saul's, comes out and starts cursing David and throwing stones at him. David's buddy tells him, "Who does he think He is? Let me go take off this guy's head!

Saturday, December 28, 2013. My Letter to Jesus and My One-word Resolution for 2014. This year we joined my parents at their home on Christmas day, and shared in this tradition with them and with our daughters. As the words from my heart flowed onto the page, they inspired in me a solitary resolution for the coming year, and I wanted to share it with you here. Here is my letter:. I love you Jesus,. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms an...

Friday, January 31, 2014. Creamy Chicken Enchilada Verde Casserole. When I first married my husband, he told me he hated casseroles and wouldn't like it if I made them. I quickly got creative and started calling casseroles "bakes" or "layers." He didn't seem to mind them, so long as they weren't casseroles. After a while he was on to me, but I was able to change his mind about these wonderful dishes that every busy housewife must have in her recipe box. For a PDF of the Recipe you can print. First you br...
