Indi River Rods: Third Year Fly Fisher
http://indiriverrods.blogspot.com/2014/05/third-year-fly-fisher.html
Sunday, 4 May 2014. Third Year Fly Fisher. A couple of years ago, Robert Thompson (aka Third Year Fly Fisher. Was kind enough to organise the international postage in order to send me a copy of his film Heart of the Driftless. I really enjoyed the film which explored Wisconsin's Driftless area as well as the additional film on the DVD, Reverb. The Driftless region's waters featured in both films are the sort of streams I would be happy to spend my seasons exploring. Check out Robert's web page. Simple te...
Indi River Rods: January 2014

Wednesday, 22 January 2014. Picking pockets with the Epic 480. Monday, 13 January 2014. Without a permanent home there is still no bench on which to unpack tools and plane any bamboo. As seems to be the norm recently, any rod building has been confined to finishing off some glass rods on whatever surface is available. At best, a dining table, but occasionally a coffee table, with tools and thread scattered about the place. The current project is an Epic. A few progress pics of the wraps. View my complete...

Indi River Rods: October 2013
http://indiriverrods.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, 31 October 2013. Over the last week or so I have had the chance to put a newly completed Epic 480. To the test. Carl. Has done a great job with this taper and it is proving to be a fantastic fishing tool. Early season fishing has seen the need to change between nymphs and dries, with the rod handling either style of fishing comfortably - back and forth between tungsten, strike indicators, longer leaders and emergers. Exactly what you want from a general purpose stream fishing rod. As I mentione...
Indi River Rods: November 2012
http://indiriverrods.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, 29 November 2012. Doing what you do with a new rod. What to do with a new rod? Any point in asking an obvious question? A quick trip to the Snowies was in order last weekend to try and get the season off to some sort of start and give Mark. First creek, first cast and Mark. Gets fish number one. A great start that got our hopes up. That first fish was encouraging but did not set the scene for what was to come. Fish were caught over the weekend, but they were hard to come by.

Indi River Rods: February 2013
http://indiriverrods.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 27 February 2013. Epic build has taken up a bit of time lately (particularly once the components turned up) there has still been a fair bit of work with other rods going on. There are currently two bamboo rods hanging in the shed while the varnish cures and I will post some pictures of those soon. Once they are complete it will be time to start splitting and planing out the next two on the list. On the fibreglass front, I have received a number of Epic. The Epic drip feed. The Epic is almost c...

The Sporadica
There and back again- the Goertzens in Angola. Monday, December 01, 2014. And now for something completely different. Well not really, in fact probably not at all, I just seemed to have that phrase stuck in my head and thought it would be a good title for a post. Although now that I think of it most things here are completely different, but that still doesn't have anything to do at all with this particular post.I think I've somewhat digressed a tad. Thursday, October 30, 2014. How could I have not though...
