http://safarikubwa.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
The Ilceskis Jer. 29:11-13. Thursday, 16 February 2012. Hadrian's Wall: Photo overload! One of the things we just had to see while our friends were here over the holidays was to locate part of Hadrian's Wall and to see it for ourselves. As a teacher I find it is necesarry to not only talk about something, but to truly try to experience as well; I believe that is how we all learn best, through experience. They were all a little more adventurous than I was. We did get a GPS however! A brief history: Hadira...

Safari Kubwa: It takes a Village!
http://safarikubwa.blogspot.com/2013/12/it-takes-village.html
The Ilceskis Jer. 29:11-13. Wednesday, 11 December 2013. It takes a Village! There is an African proverb that states: It takes a village to raise a child. And let me tell you.I have never believed in this saying more than in the last few months. We know that without the love and support of so many, this next chapter in our lives simply wouldn't be possible; to all of those who have gone above and beyond (and there are countless people) THANK YOU! My Aunt Paulette made a cute blanket for Cocoa! We honestl...

The Scurlock Scene: Ryan's Pink Flamingo Birthday Party
http://thescurlockscene.blogspot.com/2015/07/ryans-pink-flamingo-birthday-party.html
Jul 16, 2015. Ryan's Pink Flamingo Birthday Party. We celebrated Ryan's 2nd birthday last weekend with a pink flamingo bash. Where I got the pink flamingo theme from? I don't know. I think I subconsciously realized that flamingos are really "in" right now because after deciding on the theme for her party, I noticed that flamingos are seriously EVERYWHERE. They are like the new "owl" craze from a few years ago. Please don't mind my 34 week pregnant self. Happy 2nd Birthday to my Ryan Cathleen! My fiance i...

Last weekend was the annual chief residents graduation dinner and the new intern class has been in the hospital this week doing orientation. I wish we weren't repeating PGY1 year, but that doesn't take away the fact that we are SO THANKFUL to be staying at UMass for the duration of Josh's general surgery residency. The Scurlock Scene: May 2015
http://thescurlockscene.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
May 23, 2015. On occasion, rare occasion, Josh and I get to have a date night out. Residency doesn't leave much free time for dates and then having a child makes it even more difficult. It requires timing up Josh having a day off, having a babysitter who is available, oh and having some money in the bank. :). Anyway, ever since we moved to Massachusetts (a year ago this week!
