http://royalaudience.blogspot.com/2012/04/heavenly-grocery-store.html
Saturday, April 21, 2012. The Heavenly Grocery Store. Praying is a lot like shopping at your favorite grocery store. And even if you don't like shopping at an earthly market, you can't afford to miss out on these celestial bargains! Grab a cart and get started. The display of advertised specials greets you in the entry. Every single display case in this section holds an item of praise. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise! Once in a while, someone will grab the refused ...

A Royal Appointment: Blind!

Saturday, January 4, 2014. Thoughts from the Mount of Blessing, p. 136. 8221; His most beloved son interrupted him. “I think you’ve made a mistake.” The tall, muscular man gently grasped his father’s wrists and tried to uncross them. “Manasseh is on your right side. He’s the oldest. Your right hand should be on his head.”. Tears fell unheeded from his faded brown eyes. So this is what it was like,. He thought. This is what my own abba went through. After a month of torture, she finally decided to move...

A Royal Appointment: Another One?
http://royalaudience.blogspot.com/2012/04/another-one.html
Friday, April 6, 2012. Why would anyone need yet another blog? I can hear you asking that, and I totally get it. But I ask in return, how well would it work for you, if you washed, dried, and folded your laundry, then just dumped it all willy-nilly into whatever dresser drawer was closest? Not only that, but the ongoing subject of intercessory prayer deserves its own uninterrupted space. After recently re-re-re-re-re-reading Celeste perrino Walker's Prayer Warriors. Another answer to prayer was that my l...

Life on the Edge: Almost Home!
http://westbylife.blogspot.com/2014/10/almost-home_29.html
Life on the Edge. Wednesday, October 29, 2014. One of these days I am going to go to Jackson Hole, WY and just soak in the gorgeous scenery. I am tired of always seeing the butt-side of the Grand Tetons as I drive through Idaho either late at night or early in the morning. At least I got to see some pretty stuff driving up over the pass and into Montana. I slept a few hours the night before in Idaho just so I could make that part of the trip in the daylight and enjoy the scenery. Yes, the Highway 191 cor...

Life on the Edge: July 2014
http://westbylife.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Life on the Edge. Saturday, July 26, 2014. Summer- - Shorter Than it Used to Be. So I've been meaning to make this post since the beginning of June- -and that right there should tell you how my summer's been going! Here it is the end of July already and summer is almost over. In the spring, I was looking forward to school getting out so I'd have more time. Now I can hardly wait until school STARTS so I will have more time. Somehow I doubt it's going to work out the way I think this time around, either.

Life on the Edge: The Pearl of the Pacific
http://westbylife.blogspot.com/2014/10/hawaii-is-beautiful-place-pearl-of.html
Life on the Edge. Friday, October 31, 2014. The Pearl of the Pacific. Hawaii is a beautiful place, the pearl of the Pacific. Unless you are a college student in the middle of the semester- -then Hawaii turns out to look an awful lot like a text book. Ah, we are on the way at last. First sunset in Hawaii, on the scenic Ala Moana Beach. At the Dole plantation. You'll note there are no pictures of me eating pineapple whip while studying. My devotion to duty only goes so far, after all. Disclaimer: Contrary ...

Sunday Open Forum Mailboxes and Old Barns. In 1925, with his World War I Navy service behind him, my father was beginning to work his own land, thinking about rain and wheat, and wrote the following to my mother in a letter dated September 14, 1925:. Our wheat averaged 12 bushels, so we really had a good crop and everything to be thankful for. It’s too bad your people didn’t get a little more, because 5 bushels is just about enough for expenses. May I have the pleasure of calling on you Sunday afternoon?

A Royal Appointment: A Speedy Answer
http://royalaudience.blogspot.com/2012/04/speedy-answer.html
Monday, April 9, 2012. Before they call, I will answer, and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. It was a long, hard trip through Wal Mart. Due to the oil boom, Williston went from a sleepy city to an overcrowded metropolis almost overnight. Choked with traffic, saltwater trucks, trailers - even squatting in the Wal Mart parking lot itself, it's a major undertaking to navigate the once simple trip. Of course, I immediately began to pray. There was even a neat little section in the Prayer Warriors.

A Royal Appointment: Crazy Answer to Prayer
http://royalaudience.blogspot.com/2014/04/crazy-answer-to-prayer.html
Saturday, April 12, 2014. Crazy Answer to Prayer. Well over a year ago, I asked God to give me a mission to pray for. And by mission, I mean a place where missionaries do stuff, not just a worthy goal. A couple days later, I ran across a story about a mission in Tchad, where the tiny son of a doctor couple was facing a mysterious illness, and the family was asking for prayer. My happy little mental images did NOT include this: Crazy Pants. Or maybe they will want me to be more specific next time. We were...
