Sunday, January 29, 2012. Disney on the Cheap-o. This weekend we got a few things ready for the Disney trip we'll be taking at an undisclosed on this public blog date. :). With 9 of us going we are doing everything we can to not make this trip a complete budget buster. One thing we will be saving money on is T-shirts and autograph books. Autograph books range anywhere from $7-$25 bucks in the park. Shirts, if I remember right, were $15-$50 bucks, depending on the shirt. Multiply that by nine.Ouch. Romy w...

Monday, April 30, 2012. Once upon a time we bought a giant yellow and brown barn. It was dirty, it was drafty and it was UGLY. It had a swamp cooler that tripped the breaker every 20 minutes, lavender walls and red carpets. It smelled like cooking grease and pets. The bathroom fixtures all leaked through to the floors below. There was gum on the walls and spiders everywhere. But we were determined to fix it up and make it a home. We got rid of the swamp cooler and put in central air and two new furnaces.

Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Last night was the school play. Romy got one of the speaking parts, she played the role of the little old woman who didn't have time to help the white spider. She crouched over her cane and stayed in character the whole time, I was really proud of her. She sewed the patches on her dress all by herself. (That was partly because she came to me at 9pm the other night and said "I need an old lady costume by tomorrow! I love these kids. :). She's not a Jersey girl yet. Ha ha Love it!
