Pinky's Pottery: October 2009
http://pinkyspottery.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 18, 2009. So this weekend has been a pottery weekend. I got a call earlier this week asking me if I wanted to donate a Piggy Bank to the St. Anthony's Catholic Church silent auction next month. With a vacation planned next week, I figured I'd better get to things before time ran out on me. Is awesome, I chose the latter, and he let me use the Clay Pugger he has in his Lab. A pugger is basically a giant enclosed auger type mixer. Push the extrude button,. The only bad thing about using rec...

Pinky's Pottery: Sour Dough Crocks!
http://pinkyspottery.blogspot.com/2012/12/sour-dough-crocks.html
Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Turns out that the Sour Dough Crocks I've been putting out have been a hot commodity here in my home town. Luckily for me, the ones buying their crocks are sharing their dough starts with friends and family, and then referring them to me for a pot to put it in. :). Because I've been so busy, and equally relieved to get an order done, I forget to take pictures of the ones I've made. This time, however, I remembered! And here are the results:. Pinky's Pottery: August 2010
http://pinkyspottery.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 26, 2010. A Story About Neglect. It's true. I have been a bit neglectful lately in the blogging department. I find it easier to post things on my Facebook page than on the blog, and in return, the pictures are low quality phone camera shots, and the true colors are poorly represented. But none the less, I'll post aforementioned pictures for the sake of posting pictures. Enjoy :). I'll be better, I promise. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Mom and Dad's Adventures. Pinky's Pottery: June 2010
http://pinkyspottery.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 13, 2010. First, I applied terra-sigillata to green-ware, buffed, and bisqued. Then I prepared my ghost willow pots with my super secret technique, which I'm not sharing :) Then I put everything in the kiln on a shelf so I could easily get to them with tongs without having to singe my eyebrows off to get to, and fired to 1300*. The hotter the pot is when you apply the hair, the more smokey effect you'll get. Cooler pot, more detail. This one is my favorite horsehair pots I've ever made.

Pinky's Pottery: September 2008
http://pinkyspottery.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 22, 2008. Those of you with weak constitutions turn away now! It's a horrible feeling really. You work so hard on a piece of pottery and in a blink of an eye, it's destroyed. luckily, I've only had a few losses, just three have been caught on camera. Unfortunately for me, all three of these disasters were all part of one ill-fated project. Then the Pottery God struck me with His wrath. and this happened. The base shrunk and pulled my favorite platter apart-. Go wrong. Right? About a wee...

Pinky's Pottery: May 2010
http://pinkyspottery.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 8, 2010. So I've been on the prowl for some new glazes lately, and I think I've found a company I love. Coyote Clay. Has some really amazing and unique colors for really reasonable prices. They ship me the dry chemicals, and mix them up myself. I really loved the first few glazes I got; consistent results are always a plus. However there is one glaze where get the most beautiful result:. Unfortunately, it is also the SAME glaze I get the most awful result! But, an entire kiln load was not l...

Pinky's Pottery: It's been a while!
http://pinkyspottery.blogspot.com/2012/11/its-been-while.html
Wednesday, November 28, 2012. It's been a while! OK OK I know. It's been a while. .and I mean a while. Contrary to what my blog followers (if there are any of you left) believe, I actually do, in fact, do pottery (I swear! Unfortunately, due to having 2 jobs and a home remodel project, the vast majority of the things I've actually. Been making, have been special orders, and are immediately sold. Thus leading to me forgetting to take pictures to post for your enjoyment. Black n Tan Mugs. Its been a while!
