THE Glasgow theatre credited with discovering Stan Laurel is to get a 630,000 facelift. The revamp of the Britannia Panopticon Music Hall is part of a 1.2million investment by Scottish Enterprise Glasgow in the Merchant City. And it was the only Glasgow building to be featured in BBC2s Restoration series in 2003. Evening Times Publication date 31/08/06.

They will do this by investing upwards of 7m in Paisley and dedicating time as well as money to attract an additional 50m of inward investment from the private sector. So what are we the ordinary ‘Buddies’ of the town going to do? What can we do? If we don’t we can’t complain if it turns out bad and not what we want.
