Growing Yaccas in the Home Garden. There is a general belief amongst many home gardeners that yaccas or grasstrees (not to be confused with South American Yuccas) are too slow growing to be a worthwhile garden plant. The species that grow trunks will do so slowly at the rate of about 2-3cm per year; however the skirt of fine foliage will grow much quicker, creating an amazing feature. They belong to the genus Xanthorrhoea. In the lily family, with 28 species and 5 subspecies. Mount Lofty grass tree).

Welcome to Gondwanaland Opals

Welcome to Gondwanaland Opals. The name Gondwanaland is taken from the mythic land mass from which Australia was formed when it separated from Asia. From this prehistoric period, it is thought that the inland lake was formed and this is now the source of ninety-five percent of all fine black opals. Come from the opal mining town of Lightning Ridge, which is located in the center of this ancient dead lake 1000 kilometers from the sea. From Wayne Roland Brown. 2012 - Wayne Roland Brown.
