Rainy day. Just sitting in the academic center listening to the - gonetoGhana. Apr 29th, 2005 04:15 pm. Rainy day. Just sitting in the academic center listening to the rain. It's falling rather rhythmically right now and making a ruckus on the tin trash can lids. Mmm, electricity just went out. That's my que to leave. May 1st, 2005 07:08 pm (UTC). Stop AIDS, love life. - gonetoGhana. May 7th, 2005 06:49 pm Stop AIDS, love life. Lately the sky has been this incredibly bright, expansive blue, and the clouds have been the kind that are so fluffy and three-dimensional you want to reach up and pluck them out of the sky. For some reason it reminds me of home. Sam noted the same thing on one particularly golden afternoon. I don't think I can yet comprehend, nor am I certain I ever will, the sum total of what being here has meant.

The other day I had the oppotunity to go to a traditional Ghanaian - gonetoGhana. Mar 28th, 2005 01:31 pm. The other day I had the oppotunity to go to a traditional Ghanaian wedding. A friend of Rosmond's, a Ghanaian grad student who works here at NYU in Ghana, was getting hitched. The interesting thing about a Ghanaian wedding is that the bride and groom aren't even present for most of it. March 28th, 2005 05:59 pm (UTC).

Back into the atmosphere - gonetoGhana. May 17th, 2005 07:48 am Back into the atmosphere. I'm in London for my extended layover/reenty into the Western world. How the traffic is backwards, it kind of fits the way I feel - from a distance everything looks fine, nothing out of the ordinary, but when you contemplate it something's just a little off, a bit confusing, and I don't know which way to look. May 17th, 2005 02:42 pm (UTC). May 17th, 2005 03:50 pm (UTC). Have a safe trip home. Countdown to totally a...

Gone to Ghana
January 19, 2009. 8212; slrussell @ 6:21 pm. I arrived in Calgary on Saturday afternoon to be met by most of my family, complete with signs and everything. I’ve always wondered what that would be like! Now I will spend the next two weeks ‘adjusting’ and then it’s back to work. I think this will be the end of my blog, now that I’m not “gone” to Ghana anymore. Plus, what could I have to say at home? Thanks to everybody who has kept me company with your comments. Hope I will see you all soon! So, How Was It?

Notes from another world. Here’s a video a friend put together about my trip. On September 4, 2012 in Uncategorized. Well folks, I made it home safe and sound. Please know that this journey would not have been possible without your prayers and support. As cliche as that sounds, it’s the truth. As I continue to adjust back into life in the states, pray that I do not forget where I have been. Pray that these last few months will radically alter the course of my life. Tuesday, November 06, 2007. Comin’ Home (email from Jenell Oct 31, 2007). I realize that America is the land of efficiency and ADD and that soon I'll need to adjust to that and send out normal length emails in regular intervals, but I'm not there yet. So, I will instead send out an email of a most intimidating length saying bits and pieces of everything I've wanted to communicate to the world outside in the last several months. So, this is it. Where I'll be -. 2) November 27th : go to Ouagadougou (pronou...
