New Century Rocketry - Rear Ejection Rocket Projects
http://www.rocketry.gonnerman.org/rearejection.html
Rear Ejection Rocket Projects. January 27, 2013. I got the fins on my Gooniebird Zero and modified Ruskie today. I had to make my own fin alignment wraps for both. The GB0 was pretty easy since it's just three evenly spaced fins, but the Ruskie's fins are laid out unusually. Anyway, it all worked quite well, and here you can see the results. Rear Ejection Rocket Projects. January 22, 2013. Back in 2009 I built a rear ejection rocket, the Mo' Skeeter. Along with the obligatory Estes. I do a lot of other t...

Quote of the Moment. July 9, 2016. Dry, windy weather made it appear that we might have trouble setting up a launch for the 4-H project kids this year, but then suddenly after a brief spate of rain I saw that the forecast for Saturday the 9th was nearly windless. A quick flurry of Facebook messages later, and four of the five project kids (and their mothers and some of their siblings) were lined up to launch. Click here to read more . October 6, 2015. We had to launch. Click here to read more . I got a s...

Well, that's what it was supposed. To include. but Braydon got his Baby Bertha. Mixed up with Ethan's, and that's what he launched. As I said, first up was my Mo' Skeeter. It still wasn't enough. Jacob's Astron. On a B6-4, and it turned in the first "AOK" of the day; it was launched by Braydon, who had not yet realized ...

New Century Rocketry - Moonraker Variation
http://rocketry.newcenturycomputers.net/moonraker.html
April 8, 2015. I got a set of fins from Semroc a while back for a Moonraker, and they've been in my parts box ever since. Last night, I pulled together the parts to build it, and then had a better idea. Here's the parts layout:. Moonraker Variation Parts Layout. The engine mount is a section of BT-5 cut to 1 3/4" long; the nose cone is actually a BT-20 cone from Semroc I've had for years and never used. It's a bit small, but I'll sand the edge of the tube down to make it come out even. I glued the upper ...

New Century Rocketry - BMS School Rocket
http://rocketry.newcenturycomputers.net/schoolrocket.html
March 21, 2015. Okay, part two. Kids attack! I had five boys today, building School Rockets and Baby Berthas. They ranged from 8 to 10 years of age, with minimal building experience. Putting the engine mount together went nicely. One boy had a fin crack; it was obviously a fault in the balsa, and I gave him one from my kit. A few years back I had two kids that age who built Semroc RTB kits, and the slots must not have been as tight because they went together nicely. BMS School Rocket Build. March 20, 2015.

New Century Rocketry - Back Yard Launch, July 9, 2015
http://rocketry.newcenturycomputers.net/launch20150709.html
Back Yard Launch, July 9, 2015. July 9, 2015. Wow, almost a year since my last launch. My wife and daughter are working tonight at the county fair, and I was going to be there too, watching the motocross races; but the almost incessant rains (including an installment yesterday) made the dirt in the arena too soggy to build a track on it. In keeping with my previous statements about incomplete works on the Downloads page, I'm demoting my incomplete Castle D'Angelo to the Workshop. So here it is. EDIT: As I mentioned elsewhere, I'm combining Castle D'Angelo with Tower of Light and House of Coldarius. So I'm switching this thread over to the new title.

New Century Rocketry - Back Yard Launch, July 31, 2014
http://www.rocketry.gonnerman.org/launch20140731.html
Back Yard Launch, July 31, 2014. July 31, 2014. I was getting desperate to launch some rockets. if you look back through my launch reports, you'll see why. It's been a while. So when I got home from work today and the conditions were perfect, I just had to head out to the back yard and launch a few. A barely perceptible south wind greeted me there. The sun was getting low in the sky, but I had prepped my rockets fully before starting out to avoid any delays. Click the pictures for a larger view. On a 1/2...
