My Travels with Wassachusetts: The Gift
http://wassachusetts.blogspot.com/2012/02/my-daughter-recently-asked-me-if-id.html
My Travels with Wassachusetts. Tuesday, February 7, 2012. My daughter recently asked me if I'd chosen a topic for my next blog entry. Since I hadn't yet decided, I suggested she give me a few good ideas. Her little face brightened up and then, wrapping her slight arms around my shoulders, she whispered, "I'd really like it if you wrote about me.". And so I will. February 9, 2012 at 3:37 PM. My Travels with Wassachusetts: Crazy Cool
http://wassachusetts.blogspot.com/2011/07/crazy-cool.html
My Travels with Wassachusetts. Sunday, July 24, 2011. It was long overdue, but Wassachusetts finally has a new (and enormously improved) horse show name. For those of you not familiar with this bizarre naming ritual, take note: Horse people are an odd sort when it comes to choosing a name for their mounts, and when it came to dubbing Wassachusetts with his own fancy-schmancy show name, well, honestly, I had an easier time naming my children. Why, Ernest Hemingway, of course. It didn't take long for a nam...

Susan Says...: July 2015
http://susanszoldsays.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
A trip though the psyche of a self-appointed cultural warrior with a bone-to-pick with the well-adjusted minority. "Susan Says." is for women of all ages, as well as the men who love us, fear us or try to avoid us. Welcome. We're glad you're here. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Summer, Part One. When I was a kid, summers were a rough and tumble affair. Each glorious day was greeted with the anticipation exclusive to childhood. If I concentrate very hard, I can almost still feel it. When we were very little, t...

Susan Says...: My Coach, Mr. Fab

A trip though the psyche of a self-appointed cultural warrior with a bone-to-pick with the well-adjusted minority. "Susan Says." is for women of all ages, as well as the men who love us, fear us or try to avoid us. Welcome. We're glad you're here. Tuesday, May 5, 2015. My Coach, Mr. Fab. Millennia from now archaeologists excavating New Fairfield’s Tegmeir Field will find a decayed baseball buried. Mr Fab knows baseball and is a fantastic technical coach, but that’s only part of what makes him speci...

My Travels with Wassachusetts: July 2011
http://wassachusetts.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
My Travels with Wassachusetts. Thursday, July 28, 2011. I arrived home yesterday after a great riding lesson caked in a sticky film of dust and sweat with a ball of frizzy hair piled on my head and I couldn't have been happier. There's something about this summer that is just so perfect and satisfying that I never want it to end. I would liken it to that delicious moment when you sink your teeth into a ripe peach. We've also discovered three very nice girls who like to babysit. What a lucky strike! It wa...

My Travels with Wassachusetts: Hot Damn
http://wassachusetts.blogspot.com/2011/07/hot-damn.html
My Travels with Wassachusetts. Thursday, July 21, 2011. Just as I was nearly convinced that Wassachusetts and I were destined to part ways, things started to come back together again. After a ride or two with my trainer's daughter, Wassachusetts started to become more confident in his approach to jumping and I started to dig deep and have more faith in my abilities as a rider - a GOOD rider - and began to trust Wassachusetts again. My Travels with Wassachusetts: May 2011
http://wassachusetts.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
My Travels with Wassachusetts. Thursday, May 19, 2011. He's A Hot Mess. Have I mentioned that Wassachusetts was once employed as a race horse? His less than illustrious career began and ended at Suffolk Downs in Massachusetts. With 8 starts, which included 1 win, 1 place and 1 lousy show to his credit, Wassachusetts retired in 2007 with earnings teetering on $10,000. And while he may not have been fast enough to make it on the race track, he's more than fast enough for me. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

My Travels with Wassachusetts: February 2011
http://wassachusetts.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
My Travels with Wassachusetts. Monday, February 28, 2011. A Matter of Trust. I have two beautiful, smart, funny children. They have changed my entire world in good and not so good ways, but I can’t imagine my life without them. For me, it was the right choice to leave my corporate job so I could give myself over to raising my kids full time. I take the job - which, by the way, is the hardest job I have ever had in my entire life - of raising my two small people very seriously. It’s all guesswork. Having ...
