Snow goose saga: part 1. When i drove into the driveway from running errands yesterday, i wasn't really surprised to find a wild goose in the backyard. these things just seem to happen to us, i guess. it was on john's back patio by the slough. James said. john thought it was one of our ducks. and when i kneeled down to it, it came right into my arms. All i ever wanted. At the harlow's, we were greeted jollily by ian. erika is out picking strawberries. she'll be home soon,. What ensued next was fourteen s...

one a day: worth it
http://sealevelstudio.blogspot.com/2015/08/worth-it.html
That was my choice, and yes. I must live with my decision, and no. I don't regret my decision. I work for my passion and currently support myself on art alone. But this month, and many months, I'm still on the "oh shit, how am I going to pay rent and feed myself? Tip Aren't I too old. At a certain point, it gets old. This time around, I got my runnin shoes on. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Enter your email address:.

Today was a mighty whirlwind, as saturdays often are. saving all thoughtful insights for tomorrow. until then, sweet dreams. When someone tells me it's about to snow smack dab in the middle of spring, damn right i get a little grouchy about it. because i'm sick. It's the freakin banana belt! So much so that i found me a new swimsuit at a local thrift establishment, and was able to try it on without freezing my buttcheecks off! How warm is it? I said. in just my sweatshirt. Best coast: when i'm with you.
one a day: new heights

When I was young, I wasn't one of those horse girls. That was just too typical. My fantasy pet was a giraffe that I could feed by hand out the second story window of my childhood home. I could picture it perfectly, and I still can today. Because what is a giraffe but a horse with a fancy paint job and an extra long neck? This over-dramatic, prepubescent, angsty and artsy young girl's dream. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Enter your email address:.

We are what we repeatedly do. excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. I've done it, folks. one year ago, i set a goal, a lofty one at that, and today i reached it. sure, i've flubbed a few times, complained a lot, blurred the requisites, moaned and groaned, but in the end, i pretty much stuck to it, made it work: one painting a day. Practice what you know, and it will help to make clear what now you do not know". Looking back over this year, oh how it flew by. And back to life. If people didn't care.

I paint a lot of common objects. I think back to when I first started with watercolor: I had grown sensitive to the solvents in oil paint, they made me nauseous every time I sat down to work. I had to try something new, my livelihood depended on it! Repeat. Don't think about concept and content, just learn how to paint. 8220;So what do we do? And boy did you earn it. How I'm going to take life by the horns in this way or that. So, my friends, as a result, I've decided to wipe the dust off this old ja...

The permanence of pattern. It's my favorite nickname. He must be good at what he does, because he's still ahead. It's not the first time. years ago, brandin told me that dana had died. i didn't know him as well then, but still, i was pretty upset. i went across the street to announce to andrew, andrew, dana has passed away. Andrew was pretty upset too. turns out, it was just a rumor. false alarm. just some small town bullshit drama, i suppose. They point . there it is. James says, and i see it: the tinie...

There are things about being a self-employed artist that only other self-employed artists understand. For instance, as glamorous as it may sound, it is quite the lonely proposition. Any typical "eight hour day" might consist of all sorts of ways to fill the empty space that surrounds you. A professor once said you'll spend an hour painting and seven hours looking at/thinking about that painting. And boy did you earn it. July 28, 2015 at 9:54 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Good Neighbor Garden
The Good Neighbor Garden. The neighbors that grow together. Friday, May 21, 2010. The History of the Good Neighbor Garden. Its not very often that you move next to your best friend before she is even your best friend. But that's what happened to me. When we purchased our first home I was lucky enough to move next to Varinia. We stuck up a friendship without even trying. That's how it normally works. It wasn't hard it just was. Last year was the trial run but this year we mean business. We're excited for ...
