Books, SF, etc. E is for English eeriness, WTF is for Hawk. Quote #23 →. April 27, 2015. 8220;I learned later that Rhody always automatically remembered her place in a book. She was not good with phone numbers, and even her Social Security number gave her trouble occasionally, but the page number of her current book would just come to her without effort as soon as she held it and saw the cover. this is how she fight start: The Violent Century
http://fightstart.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-violent-century.html
This is how she fight start. Wednesday, 1 July 2015. Lavie Tidhar, 2013. Atmospheric. Metatextual. Short sentences. No quotation marks. Evocative of McCarthy. Evocative in general. Europe descends to war. People fight the Nazis. The Nazis fight back. Also Vietnam. Also superheroes. Following on from the world Fantasy Award winning Osama. Noirish pulp. Again. He’s very good at this, the whole atmosphere thing. That’s a bit of a double edged sword though, to be honest. Strong characterization; interesting ...

Climbing to the light: A Boy's visit to the Harry Potter Studio Tour
http://climbingtothelight.blogspot.com/2012/03/boys-visit-to-harry-potter-studio-tour.html
Climbing to the light. Flash on the blog. A Boy's visit to the Harry Potter Studio Tour. The Boy was incredibly lucky last week; his school had the opportunity to go to a preview of the Harry Potter Experience at the Leavesden Studios. Our (very) small claim to fame is living within walking distance of the studios. Sadly, they are excellent neighbours and I have never seen or heard anything interesting from the outside. We went into Fred and George's shop. There were actually fireworks! There was a cinem...

Climbing to the light: October 2011

Climbing to the light. Flash on the blog. Genre hopping - choose your destination wisely. One of the best things about Fantasycon was that I found out about a lot of great authors. Thrilled with my new discoveries, I dived in and am just now emerging from a huge reading bender of British urban fantasy, gritty eyed and with a head full of monsters and mayhem. It was wonderful. These are the books I read and I would recommend any of them:. The Sweet Scent of Blood by Suzanne McLeod. I don't plan to quit ju...

Climbing to the light: Bye bye, Rosie

Climbing to the light. Flash on the blog. Bye bye, Rosie. It's ring in the changes time. The Bump became Tiny Boy, who promptly killed off any plans to finish off the book and send it out. I've decided to kill off the whole thing and kick the book under the bed, at least until I start getting at least eight straight hours of sleep a night again. Right now I feel wonderfully free. Climbing to the light: Time to recognise the enemy within and conquer it
http://climbingtothelight.blogspot.com/2012/02/time-to-recognise-enemy-within-and.html
Climbing to the light. Flash on the blog. Time to recognise the enemy within and conquer it. I'm rather embarrassed that it took me this long to work it out. I have a little bit of obsessive -compulsive disorder in me to go with the inner control freak that I accepted and embraced a long time ago. I can't tell you how much more I could have gotten done with my time if I'd realised this earlier. Online, it shows as a determination to read all the tweets. And there the compulsion sinks its claws in, becaus...
