Saturday, August 15, 2015. This week I had a bus trip out with MDLC (I am a volunteer with them) to Heide. An art gallery on the bend of the Yarra. Very pretty setting in large park like gardens. It backs on to a large park that goes down to the river. We had a guide take us through the exhibits - modern art - I can take it or leave it. The paintings here I shall leave. The purpose built part of the art gallery. Judy and I looking at the side of the art gallery. The arch trees in Heidelberg Park.

Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Melbourne Open Day Weekend. Saturday Robin and I went along to Hawthorn Tram Depot. This has 21 restored trams, the oldest being a 'toast-rack' tram dating from 1906. The front entrance of the Australia Club, complete with Corinthian capitals. One of the exhibits that really fascinated me were some early books, hand written. Sunday, March 29, 2015. Melbourne Flower and Garden Show. Jenny and I went to the show on Friday. It was a good day to go - not very crowded and the weather was nice. We both got some ideas for our gardens. Jen saw the very green house that she wants so that was good. She will get Michael to check it out and then once her pumpkins are finished she can get that. I saw just the thing for a raised flower bed so that I can grow stuff - hopefully rhubarb and silver beet - without the usual back breaking work.

Saturday, May 02, 2015. Flinders and Ashcombe Maze. Judy found out about a teapot exhibition down at Flinders. Which sounded interesting. As it is a fair way down the peninsula we looked for something else to do while there and Ashcombe Maze. Sounded pretty good fun. We arranged to meet Trish at Flinders - for her it was only twenty minutes across the peninsula . One of the Abbott teapots, complete with dumb comments made by him. At the end of Flinders Jetty.
