GVS - Chown Place. The Gorge View Society. Who is the GVS. With the completion of the 17th building in April of 2012, there are now a total of 107 rental suites at Chown Place. While the majority of the units are bachelor suites, there are also 24 one-bedroom suites that traditionally have been used by couples. Increasingly the one bedroom suites are being rented by single tennants based on the demand for increased living space.

GVS - Chown Place. The Gorge View Society. Who is the GVS. The Gorge View Society (GVS) provides affordable housing for seniors who are able to live independently. The Society was created in the mid-fifties when a group of concerned members of the United Church of Canada (affiliated with the Victoria Presbytery) saw a need for decent, reasonably priced housing for seniors living on fixed incomes. Nearly six acres of land was purchased in the early 1950's and the first building was dedicated in 1958.

Gorge View - Home

How we got here. Welcome to Gorge View - home of the Robson family. Around 25 years ago the previous owners converted some outbuildings in to an annexe with its own bathroom, originally using that as a holiday let. They later converted it back to an extension of the main house. Currently our lodger Daygan lives in the annexe. Daygan is a musician (folk with techno influences) playing various stringed instruments, but primarily the madolin and plays with Dragonsfly, Celtech and does solo work.
