George, a former co-worker of mine whose heart was in gardening and the donor of this lovely tree did say "Give it 2 years or so and it will give you cherries.". Well, it's exactly around that time and almost like calendar work, they're here. I know this is one of those mundane things but how exciting it is for me that fruits are now growing among my plants!
