As much as I do miss the proximity to almost any ethnic food which we had in our little apartments, there are some upsides to living out here. One of those upsides is the fact that winding around our neighborhood are these gorgeous wooded paths that twist and turn and can easily get you lost even when they aren't covered in beautiful fall leaves.

It turned out to be one of the best beef stews I've ever tasted, and my fever broke and I started improving that very night. Coincidence? Maybe, but maybe not! Here's a rough recipe, in case you have a cold to kick too! Sauté onions, carrots, and celery. Until crisp-tender. Add a few cloves of fresh garlic. Fresh ground black pepper, and cayenne. The biggest news from June is the addition of a little more testosterone into our family - the debut of our baby boy! I think we're having a baby! The poor guy was shocked. :). We're so grateful that everything worked out so well and that we have yet another big, healthy baby! The Lord has certainly blessed our family beyond anything we could have ever imagined. Prizes for the first person to spot the whale.

Ty left for another round of the 5-week Enhanced Mojave Viper training in mid-July, and my sister Amy came to hang out and help out while he was gone. Despite missing Ty terribly, we had an amazing time and made the most of it! Amy went come ten days before Ty came back, and it was an exciting ten days! I don't really think of myself as pansy when it comes to bugs, but I'll tell you, that spider gave me the creeps.
