Voices in the City

Sunday, February 14, 2010. Review of Don Waters. I've been catching up on some friends' (and potential friends' blog posts) and I feel inspired to recommit to blogging. Zach and I are feeling a mixture of discombobulation and piqued interest as we adjust to living in Canada during all of the excitement and uproar that is the winter Olympics. Tonight we went downtown to see a flick and accidentally walked into a laser light show -complete with ziplines. Mineral and Steel" seems pasted together at times, b...

Voices in the City: September 2009

http://www.gotothewoods.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 18, 2009. This is me sans acorn squash. On Monday I start work at the Bellevue community center. For 10 weeks, and more if it goes well, I'll be assisting various classes for children and adults with disabilities.  I'm rather excited about it and a little nervous. I haven't worked in a year. Updates to come no doubt. How long will that take? Can you promise I won't end up a full-time circulation clerk? Links to this post. Sunday, September 13, 2009. Yet another sleepy sunday. The story ...

Monday, January 26, 2009. Travelers' itch or foot fungus? A more imposing trip is in Zach's future. He's flying to Seattle in May. From there he'll conduct social research in one or two cities in the region, probably Coeur d'Alene. He has four weeks in which to do the groundwork for his dissertation, visit his family, perhaps head down to LA to see Kurtis, before returning to Leeds to write. . Links to this post. Saturday, January 24, 2009. Zach and I are notoriously sleepers-in. But we've come up wi...

Voices in the City: Over the top?

http://www.gotothewoods.blogspot.com/2009/10/over-top.html

Saturday, October 3, 2009. Zach and I met our friends Susan and Chris in Ballard tonight for live jazz with the Vampirates. It doesn't make sense, but I'm sublimely happy. Oh, one more thing- I am very satisfied with my dissertation mark. That helps quite a lot. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Voices in the City. Seattle, Washington, United States. Knitting Between the Lines. Wednesday, May 30, 2007. Magic flash sparkles not included). On Memorial Day, I had made plans to go to an exhibit at the Frist Center with a friend. I found a white sundress in the back of my closet, but I knew I hadn't seen the belt/sash thing that came with it since I moved. So I decided to make my own belt. I went to my yarn stash, and just began putting colors together. And.(drumroll, please). I found a use for Rumba! June 1, 2007 at 9:20 AM. You are my hero!

Knitting Between the Lines. Sunday, November 11, 2007. Either that or lots of ibuprofen (which is currently buried in my closet, in a bag, behind the shelves to my bookcase, behind the large glass that goes on top of my desk, behind the filing cabinet.). "Go to the Worker" | America's Labor Apostles

Go to the Worker. America's Labor Apostles. This blog welcomes feedback on the book. Go to the Worker : America’s Labor Apostles. April 2010, ISBN #10:0-87462-749-4) and/or on the relevance of the book today. It’s a history of the Catholic social-action movement from the mid-1930s to the mid-1950s, but the book’s worker-justice message is needed just as badly in the Great Recession we’re now going through now as it was in the Great Depression which led to the movement’s formation.
