Our Little Pickle: May 2012
http://ourlittledillpickle.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 16, 2012. A dose of reality. This scared me to death and to be honest it made me think, "is this going to be the horrible seizure that takes him from us? It reminded me how fragile Dylan really is and it made me sad. I was once again asking, "why did this happen? Why did our child get diagnosed with this rare syndrome? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Our Family in a Snapshot. Prentice Women’s Hospital. Reopened in October 2007 with a fabulous, hotel-like facility. We had the pleasure of staying there for 5 nights in August 2010 when Connor was born (in a highly coveted lake view room). Our Family in a Snapshot: October 2013
http://growingupgawel.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Our Family in a Snapshot. Thursday, October 31, 2013. A Superhero Flies High. I consider Sommer a dear friend . . . and yet I have never met Sommer in person. I have never spoken to her on the phone. I do not know what her voice sounds like. High and soft or low and gruff (I am leaning more towards high and soft). If Sommer walked by me on the street I might easily pass her by without noticing. I do not know her style or her true hair color or if she is obsessed with Royal Family (a very important fact).

Our Little Pickle: Dylan is 4!
http://ourlittledillpickle.blogspot.com/2013/03/dylan-is-4.html
Monday, March 4, 2013. Is this even possible, I still can't believe that our little pickle is 4! He is so proud of himself and loves to watch his feet as he takes those big steps, and sometimes he just has to look back and smile at whoever is walking with him. The look on his face says "DID YOU SEE THAT, I JUST WALKED ACROSS THE YARD! We are all so proud of him and can't wait to see what this next year brings. Happy Birthday Dylan! Our Family in a Snapshot: January 2014
http://growingupgawel.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Our Family in a Snapshot. Friday, January 3, 2014. Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome: Two Years Later. Late in the summer of 2008 I was enjoying life as a newlywed with very little responsibility. Funny how the months following your wedding are similar to the months following graduation from college - pressure of planning has been lifted, cocktailing often, and no immediate expectations from anyone. During that time I had the pleasure of attending my company’s management off-site ( super fun. 8220;I should have b...

Our Family in a Snapshot: February 2014
http://growingupgawel.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Our Family in a Snapshot. Monday, February 17, 2014. Adding the ‘L’ in Gawel. Of course having a third child brings out questions people want to ask you but never actually do. They probably talk about it with others but not directly to you J. I figured I would answer some of those questions to help facilitate the conversation. Plus, let’s me honest . . . after JD there are usually a few additional questions. Will we find out the gender? What are we hoping for? At this point, we feel. Now, for the big que...

Our Family in a Snapshot: December 2013
http://growingupgawel.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Our Family in a Snapshot. Sunday, December 15, 2013. December 15: Two Years Later. Puffy red eyes, pit in stomach, broken spirit, and bad hair. This is how I walked into Nate’s Holiday Party on December 15, 2011. Halfway through my second pregnancy, 20-weeks and it all changed. This year I walked in with a big smile, fancy dress, and great hair (in my opinion). Two years later I would never have imagined this is where we could. The story has been told many times (check it out here. Endless questions surr...

http://ourlittledillpickle.blogspot.com/2012/11/dylan-great.html
Monday, November 19, 2012. I had to share this video from PT today - and if you don't have a child that struggles with low tone and pelvic instability you won't understand how HUGE this accomplishment is. Today was the first time EVER that Dylan has stood like this. I will stop rambling and let the video show him off. Also, just to brag a little more - he had already been standing for well over 2-3 minutes before I grabbed my camera. Dylan you are our little SUPERSTAR! Thats so Awesome Kristy! Enjoying t...

http://ourlittledillpickle.blogspot.com/2012/12/coming-to-end.html
Saturday, December 29, 2012. Coming to an end. This year Dylan phased out of the birth to 3 program through the Regional Center and started pre-school (5 days/week and 3 hours/day) and it has been fantastic for him! He still attends Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy weekly. He continues to improve on his strength and gross and fine motor skills and he can now:. Grasp objects (such as a small toy or ball) and take them from one container and put them in another. He can say "MAMA" a...
