Gr8tfulEd and Belle - 1973 VW Camper: March 2009

http://www.gr8tfuled.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 30, 2009. Are we there yet? Now it's on to the painting, carpeting, and interior tweaks. Yeah! Monday, March 23, 2009. Rather a busy weekend! Got the Mike on the sander doing fine work in prep for painting the inside. And.drum roll please. I fixed the oil leak! Had to remove the fan housing (which was a real pain with studs being rusted) to get to the oil cooler (who designed this thing? Sunday I put it all back together and fired her up! Nothing like good union work! Tuesday, March 17, 2009.

http://www.gr8tfuled.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 23, 2009. As you can see, I had help this weekend. Mike provided moral support and tried to work out his on-again-off-again bad VW karma. I think we made progress on that! Friday, February 13, 2009. Sunday, install and put it all back together. Daylight permitting, I'll work on the push rod seals too. Sunday, February 8, 2009. Day 1 - The work begins. So, this Spring and early Summer, I've:. Replaced the exhaust system. Repaired the battery compartment and adjacent rust damaged area (mostly wheel well). Pulled the dents from behind the spare tire and reinforced the whole area with 1/8" aluminum from a roadsign I found. Much, much stronger now.

Gr8tfulEd and Belle - 1973 VW Camper: Phase II progress

http://www.gr8tfuled.blogspot.com/2012/08/phase-ii-progress.html

Tuesday, August 14, 2012. September 7, 2012 at 3:17 PM. Is that a wood floor in your trunk? Id think that would make for a loud ride. Looks good though, for sure. The couches look perfect for hanging in the lot eating kind veggie burritos :). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Gr8tfulEd and Belle - 1973 VW Camper. Interested in Real Change? The Bug Boys: March 2014

http://noslocars.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 30, 2014. Enjoying the Drive part 9. It's time for another installment of Enjoying the drive. I took this picture as I was driving. This truck was in excellent shape. It looked like they were out driving it to haul something. The paint was immaculate! This is one of my favorite body styles of Chevy trucks. I might be biased because growing up my Dad had a 72 Chevy. I didn't appreciate it back then like I do now. I have never owned a British car before but I have always liked them. Well, tha...

Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Not all Air Filters are created equal! The new one has many more pleats then the old one. Almost 2 to 1 more pleats. More pleats = better filter! There really is no comparison. The one on the left is from O'reillys Auto Parts and the one on the right is a Napa gold filter from Napa auto parts. Links to this post. Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Enjoying the Drive Part 12. More at the drags. And yet another one,. I think this was in Washington DC. I could be wrong on that one though.

Sunday, May 13, 2012. An afternoon cruise out to my folks house. My folks just got back from Florida, so we packed up the Bus and headed out to see them. It was a great day for a ride. My oldest son hung out in back and snapped a few pics while we were on our way. Then he fell asleep. Night, night big guy. Posted by One Red Arm.

Friday, July 18, 2014. BOAT = "Bust Out Another Thousand". It's a blown head gasket so I started tearing apart the engine. This boat has very good access to everything. I did some research and it looks like there are a lot of boats that require you to pull the engine to do much of anything to them. This one was not the case luckily. Here is a good shot of the failed head gasket. You can see the #3 cylinder and where the gasket failed. I didn't want to mess up the new gasket trying to heft the 4 ton head ...

Sunday, October 26, 2014. Changing a Chevy Silverado's 1500 HD wheel bearing/hub. Loosen the nut and remove it along with the washer. This is a 1 time use nut and they are only available at the dealer so if you are going to do this job on a Sunday, make sure you pick up the nut beforehand. Now remove the 2 little retaining rings shown in the picture that are on the studs if yours are still there. Chances are that if your rotor has been changed they are probably not there. Now you can remove the clips tha...

Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Flagstaff, Arizona back to Utah. (The last day). Well all good things must come to an end. It was time to leave route 66 and head home to Utah. I have to admit I was really excited to see my wife and children. We took off fairly early and made it home by 5 that evening. I found this sign fitting because Flagstaff had some problems with fires while we were there. The whole area was all smoky like this and you could smell it in the air. This bridge goes over Glen Canyon Dam. An old...

Wednesday, July 31, 2013. A groovy night and a little street racing in the mystery machine! Tonight was a real blast. We went to a cruise night that was at the Valley Fair mall. The weather was a little warm but otherwise perfect. In fact Utah set a record for the hottest July on record! Here is Isaac standing in front of his favorite car of the show. This Impala was about the most beautiful car I have ever seen. This one was the one I chose to be my favorite. It was amazing! We talked to the owner and h...

The Bug Boys: April 2014

http://noslocars.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html

Monday, April 28, 2014. Enjoying the Drive part 10 and a little competition added to it! Spring is really bringing out some cool cars. Here are the latest drivers that have been seen on the road. This one was in Clearfield. I talked to the driver. He was a little old man and he said he drives this car everywhere, everyday. I'm glad that there are others out there like me. I think I will be driving old stuff for the rest of my life. Driving home from work I managed to catch up to and pass this corvette on...

Sunday, August 3, 2014. Enjoying the Drive. Part 13. There are a lot of pictures in this post because its been so long since I have posted. Work has gone absolutely crazy like it always does in the summer. Anyways here are the contenders for part 13. Ellie and I caught this picture on a daddy/daughter date we were on. It was raining on and off at the time. We saw this one in Murray. Ellie loved it because it had pink on it. She loves everything when it's pink. Early in the morning headed to work I came a...

I am Greatfull!

Monday, January 9, 2017. Flush it all away. If I am so blessed,. Why do I feel so un-blessed? 2016 is gone. I feel like I have totally lost a year of my life. It was a year of feeling a total lack of control. It just happened, second by second, minute by minute, day by day and it was gone. I have been away from my blogging for way too long. Writing is a way for me to clear my thoughts, and flush the toilet so to speak. I need to be real here. 2016 was a year I turned my cheek. So many times, my face bled.
