Pastor Brad's Thoughts: Thoughts along the Home Stretch
http://pastorbradsthoughts.blogspot.com/2011/07/thoughts-along-home-stretch.html
Your love is better than life.'. Monday, July 25, 2011. Thoughts along the Home Stretch. We are rounding the corner, heading for the home stretch. It is Monday morning in Sydney and we are about to depart for the Blue Mountains where we will be spending a few days with Alison’s friends, Hugh and Barbie. At the top of the mountain, in Leura, it will be close to freezing, at least toward sundown. Believe it or not, I am looking forward to that! But, God always has His people, does He not? Alpha would not b...

Pastor Brad's Thoughts: Toilet Humor - But, It Is Not What You Think!
http://pastorbradsthoughts.blogspot.com/2011/07/toilet-humor-but-it-is-not-what-you.html
Your love is better than life.'. Monday, July 11, 2011. Toilet Humor - But, It Is Not What You Think! In the Toronto airport last week, on our way to Australia (crazy route, but you have to take those sometimes with frequent flyer miles), I went into the men’s restroom and saw a little boy moving around in front of a toilet and making it flush. “Dad – is it magic! 8221; “Yes, son.” “Dad – they’re all magic! How could you not smile? You should be, even though I freeze here when I am inside! So while you a...

Pastor Brad's Thoughts: June 2007
http://pastorbradsthoughts.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Your love is better than life.'. Thursday, June 28, 2007. First of all, please pray for little Cali Moody, the one-year old girl in our church who had surgery on Tuesday to remove a brain tumor. Immediately after the surgery, the doctors said that they had been able to remove all of the tumor - a major plus! While you are praying for Cali and Linda, do not forget to pray for Elyse Fenerty, the young mother of five I recently told you about. Three brain tumors in our relatively small church! Linda is cons...

Pastor Brad's Thoughts: March 2007
http://pastorbradsthoughts.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Your love is better than life.'. Friday, March 30, 2007. It is time to say "thank you" again. There is no way we have the time to specifically thank each of you for the way that you have served us, but we want you to know how very grateful we are. Gratitude just washes over us again and again. We often find ourselves stunned at the love and care so many have shown to us. I recently mentioned in a post that Grace Community Church has graciously allowed me to spend precious days with my wonderful wife....

Pastor Brad's Thoughts: February 2007
http://pastorbradsthoughts.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Your love is better than life.'. Tuesday, February 27, 2007. The value - and blessing - of thinking about death. It is never a bad thing to be faced with one’s mortality. Whether it is because of an accident (or, near accident), a persistent pain, or the doctor saying, “We need to run some tests,” it is profitable for us to think about death. Of course, it could be that someone else’s tenuous hold on life causes us to consider what is most important to us. We absolutely know that it is important to remai...

Pastor Brad's Thoughts: Hillsong!
http://pastorbradsthoughts.blogspot.com/2011/07/hillsong.html
Your love is better than life.'. Monday, July 18, 2011. Since I have such limited Internet access, I am publishing two posts at once. The one just before this one is actually a guest column. It is MUST reading. What a beautiful testament to the grace of God (a grace spoken of in a different context in this post - both true)! Now, on to this post. That I took for not attending. This year, we made it! On the platform, behind the musicians, there was a choir, of sorts – or, perhaps I should say, of si...

Pastor Brad's Thoughts: April 2007
http://pastorbradsthoughts.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Your love is better than life.'. Sunday, April 29, 2007. A Premature Death - Just in Time! Don't let the title fool you - Linda continues to do well (thanks be to God! There is something quite unnatural about someone dying "before his or her time," isn't there? But, when is our time? Are we guaranteed a long life on this earth if we serve the Lord? I very much believe that the will to live is a God-given impulse and instinct. It is SO appropriate to pray for life - and unless you have stared your own...

Pastor Brad's Thoughts: October 2007
http://pastorbradsthoughts.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Your love is better than life.'. Wednesday, October 31, 2007. New MRI and a Fixed Focus on the Lord. The doctors agreed that Linda needed to have her MRI moved up from late November to today. The decision, made rather quickly, was based on the loss of movement on her left side. There was concern that the tumor was growing or that swelling had taken hold. Lo and behold, the MRI showed that the tumor is stable and may actually be better! So, is the glass half-empty or half-full? Jehoshaphat knew that if Go...

Pastor Brad's Thoughts: Melbourne!
http://pastorbradsthoughts.blogspot.com/2011/07/melbourne.html
Your love is better than life.'. Thursday, July 14, 2011. I love the smell of this city! Perhaps I should say I love the way that this city smells. Melbourne is known as a city of restaurants and coffee shops. From the first moments in this great city, Alison and I were inundated with sights, aromas, and tastes that thrilled our senses! Coffee shops along the alleyways and restaurants that always seem to be cooking their best fare beckoned to us all day long. Whose husband, Thomas, welcomed us into their...
