Chicago to Caracas for my wedding, which we are going to celebrate next week (I promise photos hahaha). The adventure has been fantastic! People are delighted with the fact that someone is traveling with her wedding dress! Everyone is nice and cordial! Even at the security check! Here are some pictures while I wait for my next flight!
Grads Abroad: Venezuela's public opinion: The Need to Polarize
http://gradsabroad.blogspot.com/2012/05/venezuela-public-opinion-need-to.html
Chronicles of an international grad student. Saturday, May 5, 2012. Venezuelas public opinion: The Need to Polarize. As many countries facing crisis or significant changes in their social consensus, Venezuela has become a fertile land to polarized opinions and often violence derived from it. In addition to the sadness this situation generates me, there was one issue over which people were discussing about: the "right" to be Venezuelan. According to many, migrate makes you a less valuable citizen. Bec...

Chronicles of an international grad student. Monday, May 7, 2012. Baseball season in Chicago: LA Dodgers vs Chicago Cubs. I hope you are doing great! I wanted to share with you my experience this Saturday at the Chicago Cubs stadium. The student body at the Harris School organized a group event to go together to a baseball game. It was nice to share with people outside of the school, but I must say the game itself was the best of the day. Saturday, May 5, 2012. Regardless of the content and quality of th...
Grads Abroad: April 2012
http://gradsabroad.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Chronicles of an international grad student. Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Studying abroad as a couple. In this time of admission release decisions and deciding on where to pursue your studies, there is a common question to many people. What if I have a couple? Do I bring her/him with me? What if we are both studying? Is that "too much"? The life as an international student has its beauties and it's challenges. For me, coming as a couple has make things a lot easier and certainly more pleasant. 4 Time managem...

After finishing our Language Camp this Friday at Chicago Harris School, more tan 40 international students went to play soccer and then for a couple of drinks together. Blood Donor | from the attic
https://loftet.wordpress.com/2012/07/08/blood-donor
July 8, 2012. It is past midnight, outside might still be raining and I am trapped in a cold and not so welcoming room in Oxford. I have just finished some slides for Monday, after traveling for 8-9 hours. I drank some Coke to struggle through the slides-making process and now I am a bit afraid that I won’t be able to sleep… but more on this later. July 23, 2012. But this nice visiting time has been tainted by the tiredness we accumulated. The main problem was the accommodation. I will start by saying that if you go to London, don’t ever stay at the Euro Lodge Clapham Hotel. It is just awful! They charge you a lot of money (we paid 134 pounds for two nights) and give you almost nothing in return. July 15, 2012. While most of the girls and some of the lazy guys where watching the game while sitting on the grass. Due to the amazing weather we had...
A promising week-end | from the attic
https://loftet.wordpress.com/2010/09/26/a-promising-week-end
September 26, 2010. It’s great when you are anxious for the week-end to come, you know you will do very nice things and that you will have a great time! Or at least you hope so… My week-end was exactly like this. I sincerely thought that it was going to be awesome! It wasn’t bad, don’t get me wrong, but it wasn’t what I expected either. Today I went running with one of my new friends (if knowing her for one year still counts as new) at the Smuk kvindeløb. Welcome to my room! And what about Danish? 8230;]...
The Summer School | from the attic
https://loftet.wordpress.com/2012/07/14/the-summer-school
July 14, 2012. I’ve been in Oxford for a week now and I am starting to realize that my summer will probably look like a very sad and wet spring/autumn. To be honest I didn’t think I could leave Aarhus and go somewhere more south where the weather is worse. In Romanian we have the perfect phrase for it: din lac in puț. This entry was posted on Saturday, July 14th, 2012 at 11:40 and posted in summer schools. You can follow any responses to this entry through the RSS 2.0. The First Week-end ».
Keep on running | from the attic
https://loftet.wordpress.com/2010/10/07/keep-on-running
October 7, 2010. As I was saying before, I do not enjoy sitting in a chair the whole day long. This is why I considered what options I have to do some physical exercise. A lot of people in Aarhus bike to school/uni/work. I too tried doing that but, ironically, even though Denmark is very flat (with it’s highest point being lower than 200m), Aarhus is very hilly, which makes it annoying to bike in. So I gave up…. The other big thing that people do here is running. Therefore I thought. Hvad er din hobby?
Exams | from the attic
https://loftet.wordpress.com/2012/05/22/exams
May 22, 2012. Yesterday I finally had the written Danish exam that I have been waiting for, for so long. While days past and I got closer and closer to it, strong feelings started to set in and the nights became longer and more sleepless than otherwise. This made me think about exams, how we approach them, how they take place and what they mean for us…. Nevertheless, my strong experience took over and calmness set in when I received the exam papers. 5 responses to “ Exams. May 24th, 2012 at 06:01. 8230;]...

Daily Archives: May 28, 2012. May 28, 2012. It has been almost 2 years since I spent 6 weeks in Oxford for a summer school. It was the period when I just started this blog and a lot of exciting things happened. It was a great experience and when I was offered the chance to take part in it once more, my answer was… yes! And this is where I come in! Posted in feelings and thoughts. Enter your email address to follow this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email. Blog at WordPress.com.
The First Week-end | from the attic
https://loftet.wordpress.com/2012/07/15/the-first-week-end
July 15, 2012. However I decided to stay in Oxford this week-end as I didn’t want to miss the first social activities. After a failed attempt to join a run for cancer research, we settled for meeting in the main park today. The guys played some sort of football with a volley ball (ingenious, right? So me not leaving Oxford paid off! On cooking), he thought it would be interesting to make éclairs. We finished they day with some Romanian dinner that I prepared. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
