Blog of Britain

Wednesday, July 10, 2013. I procrastinated working on my dissertation by going to Munich, Vienna, and Salzburg. A nice view of Munich from the top of St. Peter's church. The fairy tale castle Neuschwanstein in Bavaria. It rained the whole day we were there which made it pretty with the mist and clouds. The view from the Neuschwanstein of a nearby castle and village. Another view where you can see the lake. Salzburg's main shopping street. The house where Mozart was born. A view of Salzburg from the fort.

Thursday, June 13, 2013. I went to Disneyland Paris for my birthday. Such fun! I only have one question: who designs a park that includes Captain Eo, but not Splash Mountain? I've never seen a hotel so packed! It took forever to check in. It was the 20 year anniversary for Disneyland Paris. With friends Sara and Addison. Big Thunder Mountain is behind us. It was closed:(. I've never seen any Robin Hood characters before. Seeing the Sheriff of Nottingham was very exciting. Friar Tuck was also there.

Saturday, November 24, 2012. Yesterday I went on the Harry Potter Studio tour. Warner Brothers have filled two lots with costumes, sets, props, and models from the movies. Everything you see is the "real thing." I feel like the pictures speak for themselves, but for those Muggles I'll include captions. In front of Dumbledore's office with Addison and Jessica. Harry's cupboard under the stairs. They created all the books that are mention in the Harry Potter series to be used in the classroom scenes. Last ...

Monday, September 17, 2012. Here are a few places that I see as I walk around the area by my campus. Big Ben recently renamed the "Elizabeth Tower." Sometimes I think the Queen has too much power. The Captain Kidd Hotel made me laugh. Houses of Parliament at sunset. The National Gallery. It has the Van Gogh exhibit featured in Doctor Who among other artists like Monet and Picasso. Look the Queen is welcoming me to London! The Royal Courts of Justice, so pretty. Trafalgar Square with my friend Elizabeth.

Sunday, October 28, 2012. Pretty great advertizing. When you walk down the street, the bright colors really catch your eye. The round part was designed after the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. Two of the effigies of Knights. They were badly damaged in the war, but casts had been made and placed in the Victoria Albert museum before the war, so they are on display by the originals. Sunday, October 14, 2012. A little about my classes:. 2 Latin: a more difficult language than I thought. There are 4 ways to...

Friday, October 24, 2014. Cheesy Lifetime "what I learned this summer" PSA. Stunned faces, nervous laughter, "no, but seriously. what happened? This is the response that i get from virtually everyone who I have told about my summer. SUMMER 2014, MAN. at times, it was like being the low-paid protagonist in an absurd yet sad and kind of dark and twisted slapstick indie movie. Like, maybe it was a comedy?
