Graeme's Allotment Blog

Hello, I'm Graeme. I'm 27 and live in Gosport, Hampshire. This is my first blog and my first attempt at allotmenteering. I have a half plot (7m x 14m) at Brockhurst Allotments in Gosport. Monday, 3 May 2010. Not updated for a while. Sorry, I have not updated the blog lately. But then, I've not done a great deal at the allotment either. I wish I'd done a bit of weeding though! I've built two cloches from water pipe and fleece and planted my cabbages and brussels sprouts in them. Saturday, 3 April 2010.

Graeme's Allotment Blog: Happy New Year!

http://graemesplot.blogspot.com/2010/01/happy-new-year.html

Hello, I'm Graeme. I'm 27 and live in Gosport, Hampshire. This is my first blog and my first attempt at allotmenteering. I have a half plot (7m x 14m) at Brockhurst Allotments in Gosport. Friday, 1 January 2010. I spent about three hours at the allotment today. I lifted the weed suppressant fabric. There are still a few weeds there, but they are generally looking very weak. I blasted them all with a good dose of "Roundup" weed-killer. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Allotments 4 All (forum).

Graeme's Allotment Blog: In The Gutter

http://graemesplot.blogspot.com/2009/12/in-gutter.html

Hello, I'm Graeme. I'm 27 and live in Gosport, Hampshire. This is my first blog and my first attempt at allotmenteering. I have a half plot (7m x 14m) at Brockhurst Allotments in Gosport. Thursday, 31 December 2009. Due to the allotment mains water supply being turned off over the Winter, I have decided to invest in a 100 litre water butt and some guttering for the shed. Heavy watering should be confined to the Summer (when the mains water is on), so this 100 litre butt should be enough to see me through.

Hello, I'm Graeme. I'm 27 and live in Gosport, Hampshire. This is my first blog and my first attempt at allotmenteering. I have a half plot (7m x 14m) at Brockhurst Allotments in Gosport. Friday, 4 December 2009. Link-a-Bord Raised Bed Built. After finishing work early today, I made my way to the allotments with about £60 worth of 'Link-a-Bord' plastic raised bed gear that arrived earlier in the week. You buy it by the meter with all the joints etc and it all slots together very quickly. A Patch of Dirt.

Allotment Diary » New Year. New plot dilemma.

http://www.allotmentdiary.co.uk/archives/328

From noob to horticultural expert – hopefully! New Year. New plot dilemma. The plots on our site are pretty large. So large that, over the years, the society has split some into 3. The resulting 1/3rd plots are still pretty big compared to most sites. My current plot is 1/3 of a full plot, at the end of a row where the other two plots remain vacant. I really can't decide what to do. I think the sensible option may be to take the full plot, but keep my current 1/3rd plot, shifting everything I can ove...

From noob to horticultural expert – hopefully! Give, and ye shall receive. Now the weather has improved, I've also taken a chance and stuck a couple of sweet potatoes out on the plot. Hopefully we won't see any more frost now, but I've got them under a couple of cloches just to be on the safe side, only allowing them out into the fresh air when I'm around to guard against attack from wildlife or weather. From noob to horticultural expert – hopefully! Archive for the ‘General’ Category. The plot, Mk.2. I really need a holiday, but it’s just not feasible with what we’ve got on at work, so weekends tend to take a pretty laid back pace right now. Allotment Diary » A cruel twist of fate

http://www.allotmentdiary.co.uk/archives/301

From noob to horticultural expert – hopefully! A cruel twist of fate. I hate nature sometimes. Just when you think you're at one with it, it turns around and bites (or should that be stings? You on the arse. Came home from work this evening as normal, deciding to give visiting the plot a miss, as I watered everything in the polytunnel yesterday evening. Wandered into the kitchen, switched the kettle on, then took a visit to the toilet whilst waiting. I hadn't relished the thought of having to resort to u...

The Graeme Spot!

Segunda-feira, 23 de dezembro de 2013. MMXIII: “annus horribilis” or “annus mirabilis”? As we approach the end of 2013, I note that many people are referring to this year as a pretty awful one, for a variety of reasons which I’ll return to below. Some might even go so far as to use the latin term popularised in 1992 by Queen Elizabeth II, when she said, in her Christmas Day speech:. With some of us on holiday for the next few weeks, there’s always time to catch up before new attractions fill the mo...
