Between the ocean and the sea. New Zealand, environment, land-use, travel. Don’t take anyone’s word that ‘she doesn’t bite’ or ‘he doesn’t kick’, those horses need to know where you stand in the herd and at some point they will test your mettle. When a horse kicks out at you and misses, understand it didn’t miss. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:. Many an hour did I stand in front of that bench. The northerly sand dune slowly consumes its vertical green companion. Waterstains from a generation of floods. In spite of all of its shortcomings, this little shop enabled some of my most productive time as a woodworker. A kitchen table. A candlestand, three. The mortise for the old face vise:. I doub...

What’s all this about then? Laquo; Away with the birds I – The Heronry. Away with the birds II – The Gannetry. June 4, 2015 by roamingfeet. And come they do. I went to see them soon after I arrived. At first I didn’t realise quite what I was looking at – two nobbled stacks, each white point a bird at the peak of a trail of guano like thousands of comets launching upwards. All of them gannets. As the sea temperatures rise, the gannet population has plenty to feed on. On June 23, 2015 at 7:20 pm. Awesome s...

Working With Axes: getting, but then using them. New Working With Axes. A Window Opens Up, Before It Closes Again. The French smid at the spring hammer forging a new bit on there. I’m thinking that by the winter-time it will be good to pick things up once more but as I have posted, differently then. Ahh, the winter, it has its own pace with the weather like that and extended darkness, yes a good time to sit and put words to print I think. And yes, get rid of those fucking adds! July 10, 2015. Yes, thanks...
