Monday, October 31, 2005. Paradise: found - a few months early. Nestled not too far off the eastern coast of Puerto Rico in the gorgeous, warm, Carribean Sea lies La Isla Nina-. The island of Vieques, a former Spanish Virgin Island that is now a part of Puerto Rico. It also just happens to be home to some of the most beautiful places on the planet. Maybe a late afternoon thunderstorm- but a padded cabana chair and a view of the ocean from a covered porch makes that seem more treat than tragedy. Begin wit...

Designing for Location Dependence - Experience overview
http://www.designforlocation.org/overview.html
Designing for Location Dependence. With the rise in popularity of mobile and social technologies, and the increasing drive to take technology to the streets, designers are tackling the issues of designing for wide audiences with different devices and across multiple everyday environments. How do you design for an environment that you and your participants will have little to no control over? How do you decide what technologies to use? Knowing where your participants are at any given time. Being 'of play'...

Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Monday, March 28, 2005. I'm a huge Half-Life 2. Fan Love the game. Love the story. Love the graphics. Hate Steam. Yes, that "solution" to the PC gaming market developed by Valve to fulfill all your Half-Life needs. I can't stand it. My biggest pet peeve with it was that your couldn't playing a single player game like HL2 offline. For the game to run, you had to be logged into Steam. Apparently, now you can. Play offline by following the steps listed here. Posted @ 9:49 PM.

Πέμπτη, Μαρτίου 31. The approaching of the hour. There are 10 comments. Το τελικό προσύμφω...

No news, just comment about mobile phones and services, from a veteran practitioner.3G, GPRS, WAP, Bluetooth, WiFi, etc. Saturday, February 12, 2005. Making mobile apps more viral. That's "viral" and not "virulent"! Having just spent ages trying to fix a virus-infested PC in my home network, the last thing I'd want to do is suggest we need more viruses. We clearly don't! But boo hoo for everybody else too! In general, it's a good way of spreading applications from one phone to another. Join my email list.

UNITY POLITICS: Upvote for Aggregation Innovation
http://unitypolitics.blogspot.com/2012/04/upvote-for-aggregation-innovation.html
Thoughts on Politics, Economics, Science, and everything else. Thursday, April 19, 2012. Upvote for Aggregation Innovation. This model is fun and useful, especially when thinking about the explosive popularity of sites like reddit. A lot of what reddit pushes to the front page is silly, but that's only because what's silly is what people want. The upvote/downvote system is just a highly effective mechanism for producing desired outcomes based on the preferences of users. In r/funny. Becomes fabulously su...
