Born in California, Graham Bury graduated in 2005 with a B.A. from Brooks Institute of Photography where he studied portraiture and alternative photographic processes. From cyanotypes. To out-size Van Dyke portraits. Graham played with ways that the image could be transformed using older techniques. His work has been shown at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, the Contemporary Arts Forum in Santa Barbara (now the Museum of Contemporary Art), and the Off Axis Art Festival. And a celebration of the tropics.

When in Milan recently I met a talented group of warm folk who all seem to revolve around furniture design and art. In the magical medieval village of Noyers-sur-Serein, there is an art center opening on September 10th with a group exhibition featuring many mediums and artists from California. A Barrage of Bouroullec. My mellow mannered bearded Parisian bro, Erwan Bouroullec. Would not normally come off as someone who would have anything to do with the palace of Versailles. Graham Bury's photographs and paintings reflect his ever-observant gaze, his uncanny aesthetic instinct, and his amused and joyful engagement with the world. He was an enchanter of animals, guitarist, novice sailor, and adventurous traveler. He raised orchids, surfed the Pacific, grew tropical fruit, and cooked with style.
