ChemoBoy Returns: Three strikes
http://grahamlove.blogspot.com/2011/12/three-strikes.html
A blog to keep friends and others up to date with my chemotherapy for bowel cancer, along with anything else I think of :-) Newly updated to include bladder cancer. Saturday, 3 December 2011. The most astute of you may have noticed a pattern emerging here - let me explain because, to be honest, the evidence for that is weak, but it is there. The reason for the update is I have received strike three. We were referred to the oncology department again and met Dr Law, who has now taken over my case from Dr H...

A blog to keep friends and others up to date with my chemotherapy for bowel cancer, along with anything else I think of :-) Newly updated to include bladder cancer. Monday, 23 March 2009. So what has happened in the last two months? Well there is a new American President, the worlds banks are slipping evermore into disaster, I have had another birthday and finished my chemotherapy. Looking bake it has all slipped away so fast, and yet the effects are with me all the time, even now. So some details then, ...

http://grahamlove.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
A blog to keep friends and others up to date with my chemotherapy for bowel cancer, along with anything else I think of :-) Newly updated to include bladder cancer. Monday, 13 October 2008. It should be obvious, but…. I received this today in a blog written by Microsoft employee. Have a look at the points he makes at the end - they are mostly common sense. I suppose it is a bit ironic that he received this, but it should be a timely reminder to everyone……. Sent: 10 October 2008 02:25. As your computer is...

A blog to keep friends and others up to date with my chemotherapy for bowel cancer, along with anything else I think of :-) Newly updated to include bladder cancer. Saturday, 19 February 2011. In the Dark of the Night. One of the worst times of day, I find, is when you lie in bed, wide awake in the dark of the night - not the snugly time just after you switch out the light to go to sleep - but the time around 4.00 to 5.00 when you have woken up again and can't get back to sleep. It was my birthday this w...

A blog to keep friends and others up to date with my chemotherapy for bowel cancer, along with anything else I think of :-) Newly updated to include bladder cancer. Thursday, 20 November 2008. Only so many times. Only so many times. Account Graham's blog. People have been talking! Whispers in the kitchen at work and conversations behind closed doors! What has happened to Graham's Blog? Why has he not been updating it? Is he actually going to keep us in the dark, after all he promised? I am noticing th...

Clairee. The NinjaGeek: Secretly frustrated..
http://claireelafee.blogspot.com/2011/05/secretly-frustrated.html
Clairee. The NinjaGeek. Most of you know I'm secretly a geek, and those who don't will soon find out. Friday, May 20, 2011. Life would simultaneously be a lot simpler and a lot harder if we didn't have internet. It would be so different, yet so refreshing if people looked to spend time in the simpler things in life like going for a walk in the evening and taking photos, or climbing a hill just to look and the view and think, instead of just drowning boredom in things like YouTube or Facebook.

Musings and Leanings: The Sixth Cycle
http://musingsandleanings.blogspot.com/2011/06/sixth-cycle.html
Sunday, 5 June 2011. I imagine it is a sign that some of the intensity has gone out of a situation when the frequency of blogs on the subject dies down. Well at least that’s what I’m telling myself as I realise I haven’t written for a while and haven’t even kept you up to date with how Janine fared with the 5. Very well is the answer to that and it was the best cycle yet both in terms of the side effects during the treatment and in the recovery. Cycle might have prevented it. It should in theory have sta...

Musings and Leanings: The Appointment
http://musingsandleanings.blogspot.com/2011/04/appointment.html
Wednesday, 6 April 2011. Janine had her scans today as planned and we travel up again tomorrow to get the results. Well, I say the results, we are going to get a preliminary view and then there is a team meeting at which the detail of any future treatment will be worked out. At least we will know what impact the chemotherapy has had and whether any future treatment is likely. Up until yesterday, it had been a really good week for Janine. It was a dark December afternoon and I thought we were going to see...

Musings and Leanings: Done
http://musingsandleanings.blogspot.com/2011/07/normal-0-false-false-false.html
Thursday, 14 July 2011. When we were told back at Christmas that Janine’s treatment would last six months, I wasn’t sure that could be right. Surely three to four cycles of chemotherapy couldn’t take that long when they were every three weeks. But here we are six months later and with the treatment only just finished. Not that we can complain as the treatment has done what it was intended to do and the scan Janine had last week showed that she is still in remission. Where does faith come into all this?

Musings and Leanings: Sixes
http://musingsandleanings.blogspot.com/2011/06/sixes.html
Friday, 24 June 2011. Six games to a set, 6 balls to an over, 6 cycles in a treatment regime. I may be stretching the point but perhaps there are some common themes to our summer. Actually, that really is stretching the point isn’t it but I needed an introduction, Janine is lying on the sofa watching Andy Murray, I wish we were watching the cricket and it all sort of came to me. In fact, she has been home a week and, having recovered very well with minimal side effects, enters her neutropenic phase today.

Musings and Leanings: February 2011
http://musingsandleanings.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, 24 February 2011. The Red Chair of Contemplation and Thelma and Louise. It was Janine’s birthday on Saturday and one of the gifts she received was a red Ikea chair. Some of you will know that just prior to the election last May we acquired a ‘hat of reasonableness’. Discussions at the dinner table had become somewhat passionate and occasionally heated (apparently provoked by me – which I find hard to believe) and I decided we needed something that would bring order from the chaos. You know how ...

Musings and Leanings: May 2011
http://musingsandleanings.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Monday, 9 May 2011. A week is a long time in . After a week waiting for a bed, Janine went back into hospital this afternoon and will start her 5. Lemon Drizzle …………. no I won’t go there. In truth, I had committed to this just as Janine was diagnosed and we agreed I should pursue it as best I could given that the next elections are 4 years away. I’ll leave it with you – though it seems you won’t now really need to think about it for a very long time. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Sunday Meeting Time Changes.

Monday, 31 January 2011. Don't be afraid of the dark. For those of you who aren't part of. Anyway, yesterday Janine was one of the ten. She was indulged slightly and stretched her ten minutes but if you weren't there and would like to hear what she said then you can get the podcast here:. Love Multiplied
Thursday, June 25, 2015. Welcome to the summer edition of Love Multiplied! Yeah, it would be awesome to post more than once every four months, but alas, I'm a working mother of twin toddlers with a giant to-do list. Writing in my blog sometimes falls lower and lower on that list! But I found some time and motivation to make this post. So, the main thing is that the babies - or, now toddlers I guess they are - are so fabulous. They walk around here like the own the place, not a worry in the world! I also ...
Graham Loves Beer
Drinking it, making it and talking about it). Sunday, 29 June 2014. Sullerica Brewery and Mallorca Craft Beer. Lizzie and I have just got back from a week in Majorca. Lots of nice food, relaxing, swimming and walking. but one thing I did not expect to find is craft beer! Since our discovery of Sullerica, we later found that Majorca has several microbreweries. We tried to seek out some of the others but were not able to find any others in the fairly remote area we were staying. Sunday, 16 February 2014.
